does anybody know if the humans will have any alien allies? because it would be kind of stupid if the human race had spread out into the unknown and not made any friends.

Actually, the Covenant are the first known contact in the Halo universe.

Is there a chance of potatoes becoming our allies? They can make a french fry cannon that will desolate any covenant fleet. It will make the enemy so fat, they will eventually die of a heart attack and implode! Maybe I should keep my ideas to myself right?

I have a better idea.

Just install Windows XP through their battlenet. Never know what hit them. The Covie fleet would then be so confused and getting so many errors that they would overload and be unable to fight back.

Yes the humans first known alien race is the covenant. Then, they bump into the creepy flood aliens.

However!!!!! Cortana says "This ring....its forerunner..." Meaning what exactly? Perhaps humans have known about forerunners (not actually met them though obviously) for a while before they met the covenant otherwise cortana would of said something like: "This ring...its made by a race ive never come across before..."

No. We know of the Forerunner because of intercepted Covenant transmissions. That's how we know about them. Because the Covenant are dumb enough to mention their gods.

while it would be kinda cool to have some sort of alien ally, i think its highly doubtful. if anyone watches Stargate SG-1 on SciFi (ok, so what if i'm a geek), you know who the Azguard are. they're a super-advance civilization that look exactly like the roswell alien descriptions. anyway, they have supposedly been watching the humans for some time, and keeping us safe, all the while not letting us know.

i'll get to the point: what if an alien race somwaht like tha Azguard were keeping the full covenant fleet from attacking? what if that race was helping us by distarcing some of the covenant ships?

call me a geek or whatever, but i think it would be kinda cool.

If you remember in the books, those stones that alter time and gravity, although one was destroyed, the others that are left could help allow the Spartans to be at exactly the right place at the right time, and also, the Covanent have a few slivers of the one that was destroyed.

I think having a secret protector for the human race woulda been a great idea. I can picture it pretty good: Earth is getting the crap beating out of it and Master Chief is doing all he can but is barely keeping them from taking over the whole planet and just as all hope seems lost,(Cinema scene) our cool secret protectors come outta hyperspace with a huge a** fleet and starts beating the crap outta the Covenant. Then the game proceeds to invading the Covenant homeworld where you fight brothers in arms, shoulder to shoulder. Don't ya think I could be a writer? :P

if you think about it how the hell does humanity fight off a collection of advanced alien races that out number us and have big ass guns to wipe us out with.
somebody or something has got to happen and the alien protector idea sounds pretty good to me

STARGATE ROCKS

Who knows, maybe the Covies have enslaved some races, like the Pfhor did tho the S'pht. It would be a cool twist to have an ally.

If you have ever watched Stargate Sg1 then you would know that the Asgard wouldn't be able to help us because of their problems with the Replicaters. So even if we found a super Advanced race I don't think they would help much.
