Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

A bit of an update in the OP. Some sad news and some...well, pretty much just all sad news, at least for most people, anyways.

BTW what made you pick the level the covenant? its one of my favorite levels, and it has everything in it, so i see why i would probably choose it. i just wonder what your reasons are.

It's just one of the more common levels. I wanted something that wouldn't be too common (Halo, or The Ark) pr something that was not liked (Cortana, Cortana, or...maybe Cortana). The Covenant has a bit of everything: infantry combat, light to heavy vehicles, aerial battles, two scarabs, and much more. It's a great all-rounder. It also allows for a wide array of possible scores, and doesn't send you against endless encounters (which really drive you nuts in harder difficulties with multiple skulls!)

1600 MS points is 1600 MS points

or so i thought

if you are just giving a code...its all the same

Someone had brought up in a previous contest that the 25-digit code is country-specific, and that, if I purchase the prize in the US, it could not be redeemed on an account registered in a different country.

I understand this is a huge inconvienience, that much of the B.net community is international, and I will do my best to confirm/bebunk this, but I simply don't have the time to do it right now. I'll try to get a definite answer before the next contest wins, else a new type of prize will need be found.

I apologize again. Please bear with me.

Ya, I guess if it was bought in the USA and im in Canada, you give me 1600GP and its only 1571GP Canadian :P

hahahaha...fun

anyways..no worries.
its all good, maybe next time.

Edit:

wait..now its open to the UK but not Canada, WHO IS RIGHT NEXT DOOR?

not all good.

That's because Maximum Fear, who resides in the UK, will donate a 1200 MSP card if the winner lives over there.

We can only offer the Microsoft Points prize to countries where we have someone who has offered to buy the prize to give it to the winner. Unfortunately we only have people in the US and the UK who are able to buy the prize to give away. If we could offer it to Canada we would most definitely. Sorry.

We will of course find a different prize that we can use so that more people can take part in future contests.

Actually it will probably end up being a 2100 MS Points card, due to the fact that my local game stores only stock 2100 cards. In fact, I'm not even sure if they do 1200 MSP cards here...I've never seen/bought one.

Ya, things over here aren't cool when it comes to buying American products.
something here may cost $20 USD but we have to pay $40 CAD...just because of the little bar code that say it on the back even hought we should be paying $19.75 USD (conversion)
same goes for alot of xbox stuff.
The stores haven't dropped their prices and are still charging WAY more than they should for stuff.
one place i know is selling Halo CE for $35.99.

My apologies.

Hopefully their will be more international contests in the future

Meant to type 1600, but 2100? Unusual.

You had me doubting myself there, I even had to check on Amazon.co.uk to make sure that they are in fact 2100. But yea, if a UK entry wins, they get 2100.

What kind of proof do you need? Just the link to the game or do you want video confirmation too?

A link gives me all the proof I need: Score, level confirmation, correct dates, etc. Also, include your GT with the link.

I'm debating with myself over whether or not I should post the highest score so far. It may be a little unfair to do so.

Please post the top 5 or so scores that have been submitted. It would really help with figuring out exactly what needs to be done to win.

Maybe the next time this sort of tournament is run. I want to be sure that things run smoothly, first.

why would you not want to post the top scores?

it would only make it easier for you, because if we're under it, we wont submit and you willl have less submissions to deal with.

I see the logic in both statements. Not posting the scores would keep the spam in the thread nonexistent. However, it kind of kills the competition aspect if you don't know what you are up against.

I thought about this, but I'm not exactly enthusiastic about entering my debit card number into foreign sites. I'll think about something.
