I was playing halo ce on my windows vista. I turn it on and I hear the music from the menu comes on after about 10 sec but it stays on that halo screen you see after u start up halo. Halo ce stays on that screen and won't go on the menu so i cna play, even after i w8 for 1/2 an hour. The vista is home preium, intel core duo e4500, 2gb ram, 288gb hard drive, nvidia geforce 8600 256mb, direct x 9.0c verson 5. somthing and has a august 2005 update, and integrated sound blaster 7.1. How do i get halo ce to start up so I can play?

I don't know much about Vista, but I think there is a Custom Edition patch for it. You might try looking for it.

Turn off or set to "application controlled" the Anti-aliasing setting in your video driver.

I fixed it and it wasn't that. I had to put on arrow on a bar for my nvidia on perfrmance insated of balanced or quality.

Changing the performance/quality settings in the NVidia drivers also changes the anti-aliasing settings.

There is a Vista patch for Halo CE. That should solve your problem.
