ll HackY ll

hey, I finally got halo after selling my normal xbox. So i installed it and at the final screen (where it gives you the options of play, add remove, web, register online) and i click on the play icon, the game kinda starts loading and u can see halo (the ring) but then a message appears and says:

HALO: FATAL ERROR
a problem occurred initializing Direct3D. Hardware acceleration may be disabled, please run dxdiag.

OK, so i clicked on start and chose run, wrote "dxdiag" and i made a few tests, it said that it had no problems and saved every change and left. DOES THIS COUNT AS RUNNING IT!?!?!
if not can somebody plz tell me what to do???

Either Halo 1 doesn't like your graphics card, or you have the wrong drivers installed.

Go to Start > Run and type in "dxdiag", figure out which video card you have, and post it here, and maybe we'll be able to help.

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

That doesn't help at all. Be specific.

You probably need to update update your graphics card drivers.

That's not helping. At all.

Like I said, go to dxdiag, and then go to the Display tab, and reply here with the card name, and any other information.

EDIT: Also, on the Display tab, look under "DirectX features" (or whatever), and tell us if DirectDraw, DirectX3D are enabled or disabled.

Can you run other games just fine, or is it just Halo? You need to be a lot more specific.

H1 and Halo Custom edition name: madkiller92
xfire:madkiller92

Your pc proboly had direct x 9.0a or lower and not 9.0b, your graphics card might not be dirct x 9.0b compatible, or your graphics card is under 32mb of memory. Go to run and type dxdiag, and get specific infromation about the direct x your pc is using. You can downlaod a newer verson of direct x from microsoft.com
