Hey guys, I just wanted to help a few people out that might want to know about this stuff, please no flaming if you already know about this, cuz that will just be pointless to even come to this thread, this is for the people that do not already know about this stuff.
Ok, first off, you'll need halo 1 PC, Halo 2 Vista, or Halo: Coustom Edition (De-De-De)
You can buy Halo 1 PC and Halo 2 Vista at Gamestop, EbGames, or Bestbuy and you can download Halo: Coustom Edition for free (as long as you already have halo 1: PC installed on your computer) at here (Download.com) and Halo: Coustom Edition Maps at Here (Halomaps.org) All of the sites are trusted, dont worry.
Now that thats over, we can move on, to record Halo, Halo: Coustom Edition, or Halo 2, you have two good options.
Option 1: Gamecam You can download eather 1.4.0.5 or lite 1.4.0.5, eather will get the job done, they are both free, but they will NOT record sound, thats the down part to all this. The up part to this is that you can record as long as you want w/o it automaticly ending like option 2.
Option 2: Fraps Fraps dosent have as big of a watermark that gamecam does, but it records sound, AND UNLIKE GAMECAM, WORKS WITH WINDOWS VISTA, this is the one you MUST use for recording Halo 2 Vista. Gamecam wont work w/ vista cuz its -blam!- like that. Now the down part to fraps is simply, it dosent record as long sa you want, it will only record for 30 seconds, so you can only make short clips, but this is ok, becuase if you want to make a montage, you can simply record the headshots, pwns, deaths, ect. But if you want to record one big long thing, you'll need to go with gamecam. Now, Gamecam is comming out with gamecam version 2 soon, so that be relesed with the ability to record with windows vista.

As I said before, This is compleetly FREE! and no virusses, trojans, malware, adware, ect, none of that bull. I hope this helped, and I wil liek to see a lot more people playing Halo: Coustom Edition too, its really good, you guys should download it. I'm out for now, if you have any questions, let me know, eather add a comment via this thread, PM me via this site, or send me a message on XBL at Sk8erzRule.

What about Hypercam? I've heard that before in a Halo CE game, but they're many more recording software than Fraps and Gamecam.

Jesus, just pay the $37 and be done with it. I bought Fraps over three years ago and I can say it was well-worth the $37 with the full version. While I would encourage "sharing" under different circumstances, the people who have developed and license Fraps have obviously put good work into it, so why cheat them out of it?

I totally agree. Once I grow out of my diapers and get a job and a credit card, I shall purchase Fraps. Perhaps multiple times, as compensation, as gifts to others.Posted by: Gauntlet
