In what promises to be one of the biggest launches in videogame history, Halo 2 will be the focus of an extensive marketing campaign that includes cinema, print, outdoor, online and television advertising.

I think nothing, shooters rarely have commercials, except sell-out games like SOCOM, and the James Bond series.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

They have already stated they want to promote Halo 2 like a Hollywood blockbuster.

If I'm sitting in a movie theater during the previews and I hear the Halo theme song and then suddenly a bunch of cooly put together Halo 2 cinemas are playing I'm gonna be one happy guy.

Cinema's (Theater's)... That's gonna be awesome! Goin see Spider-Man 2 and a Halo 2 commercial comes on, leaving the viewers in awe

(it better not be -blam!- like the Metroid Prime ones)

maybe you guys will get advertisements in the U.S but here in the UK game advertisement is rare......VERY rare. sometimes i feel they just don't care (sob) but i'm going to be playing the game anyway so it doesn't matter

SB-117

Halo2 doesnt need advertisement really. evreyone knows about it. Unless its to announce its release. But...anyone who goes into GAME and stares at the box is just gonna wet his pants anyway why spoil that feeling of excitement by telling you to go get it? Regular gamers should be caught off guard like that guy!

nah, theyll advertise, though i rearely see Video Game Advertisements (I rarely see any adds) bu more reare, are vid game adds.. and personally, adds are trying to persuade you to buy it, and thats what a marketer's job is to do, (they have the marketing group in bungie) but who really buys stuff cus of adds nowadays, they seem to me to be more like informants on stuff ya dont really care about. But Halo 2 would be something i do care about, and i know i'd smile at that add if it came on...

unless they made a mess of the add, then u'd be in rage for them spoiling the ad for a great game. and its not like this hasn't been done before (ocarina of time anyone? the UK version anyway)

Not sure that it even needs ads. :)

Gamestop told me the other day that they had 1/4 million pre-orders JUST FOR THEM. (meaning of course, all of the chain)

Assuming of course, its even remotely true, what do we need ads for? It will be a million seller on launch day,

But yeah, sitting in Spidey 2 and seeing a heretofore un-announced Halo2 showing unseen footage of the single player would rock hard. Don't think it would be this early though. Probably won't start until like late september or so.

By the times the ads will come out, there will be like 3 weeks before the game comes out. Thats when you usually advertise. So i doubt you'll see anything in Spiderman 2, not to say that they can't.

i bet that with my luck, i'm going to be the only person in this entire forum that won't see any of the commercials. i' going to be watching so much TV and going to see so many movies just to see one of these things that i'm gonna have eptiliptic (sp?) seizures.

for nighthawk, fps games do have commercials, Even Halo 1 had a commercial where the president said "My fellow Americans, a time has come for us to kick some ass" or something like that. Ive seen it like 3 times, its hard to find that puppy on the internet so i say that Halo 2 will have a commercial

i think bungie will release like 8 second adverts around september time ,just a flash then halo 2 then the next averts, then they will break out the full adverts in october. i love the short advert where u see it and you feel your heart stop and spend the rest of the day switching to channels that are showing adverts in a hope to see it again.
