Epic Fail. Bungie played the good cop when Halo 2 downloadable content was announced and priced, blaming Microsoft for charging their fans, but after the massive success of all three Halo games and two PC cash-ins, Bungie (self-owned and now thus able to choose its own pricing, free or otherwise) shows its true colours by turning around and charging fans (still partly dividing the community into haves and have nots, despite their insistence to the contrary) for three maps for its underwhelming sequel. Hypocrites and sell-outs.
Not only that, they look boring. Halo was a brilliant game, in part, because of its expansive, beautiful, and even epic natural environments. Where are the jungle multiplayer maps? How about an expansive and green mountainous terrain (not just the little mountain enclosure of Valhalla)? Indoor environments are largely boring, and Standoff looks about as stimulating as its dust-swept appearance.
The only upside is if Bungie adds man-cannons, shield doors, stairs and bridges to the original maps Forge inventories, which I highly doubt it will, having seen how underdeveloped the Forge was and probably will always be.
PATHETIC!
