Since you guys have been putting up so many new stats for halo 3 and other stuff like heat maps and what percentage of the population has what achievements in the game.
I was curious, is there anyway to get stats like that on b.net for the users?

ex.
-how many posts a person makes (per forum maybe?)
-how long they have spent logged on to b.net

if not...oh well...

if so...pleeeeeease..make it available :D

The first one was taken away because of elitism, and the second one would just be... depressing to some...

XBOX User Space profile

Hmmm, what if all those stats were to be put into a person profile page under a section that only the person could read?

It would stop elitism, but still give the people what they would like.

Any attempts at spamming would, as normally, be met with harsh whippings by soggy noodles, so they couldn't get there post count up, and if they did try it they couldn't show it off to anyone since only they can see it.

make it so the moderators can see it with a reveal button or something just in case they need to see it for whatever reason.

I can't think of anyone more problems it may cause.

All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

Well. To have a "post-counter" would just be like putting a gigantic spam magnet in the forums, people would just post to get the highest number of posts. To track how long every member have spent logged to Bnet is also very hard to track, because it only shows if you are logged into your windows live account. You can log in at your windows live account on this here page , and then shuffle straight over to Bnet and be logged in here.

yes i sometimes forget that b.net is crawling with microsoft stuff like windows live.

spamming would be met with bans...of course and the counters would be controlled by the mods
deleted posts would not count towards the count, expired posts will.

just a dreamer i guess

Yes, spammers would be met with bans. But adding a post counter would just mean a whole lot of unnecessary work for the already overworked ninjas.
Also, ninjas don't delete posts, they just blacklist the user so that his posts can't be seen by the public.

So now I'm a beta tester. Let's see where this goes.

What's with all this elitism crap? People keep speaking as it were the plague. With achievements, a rank system, and a skill system people have plenty of reason to say "im 1337!!!!111", but for some reason they don't. Why? Maybe because elitism would not be as big of a problem as some people would have you think.

I say give people a reason to build a respectable profile.

Why is good and respectable behavior so underrated here?
