I haven't played much on GoW PC(it's not just for Vista), but on H2V I have played a great deal and the only bug I've experienced is the one in campaign about the checkpoint not matching the one on Live.
What about Halo PC? How many bugs and glitches does it have?(bump, please on DC)
All I ever read about H2V now on h2vista.net, forums.haloonwindowsvista.com, and the H2V board on GameFAQs is how people are met with numerous bugs and problems with the game, and over half of the problems are just installing. What actually ended up happening, if you can remember, was that the first thousand or so copies they sent to marketers were faulty CDs, so installation or CD detection never even worked. That alone tells me what kind of effort was put into the product. You don't say, "Ok, the product is finished," until it actually is. Microsoft, on the other hand, gave the go on an unfinished, recycled product, and I'm still seeing the same exact problems to this day.
Halo PC now, at least, has zero installation bugs I am aware of. But that matters little when the community has been dying for the past year as well. The real fact of the matter is that one game thrived much better then the other. Halo 2 Vista never launched. The ignition button was pressed and it fell off the launch pad and rolled off into the Atlantic Ocean. And what response do we have from Bungie? Zero. What response do we have from Microsoft? Zero. And what defense do they play? "We weren't involved in its production."
Sheesh, sorry. Yes I realize the bull-blam!- that M$ is trying to pull off with H2V (paying for user provided features? wtf?0) And the -blam!-iness of the port (resolutions not supported, no filters, no rcon) but I bought the game before knowing any of that and if I did I probably still would have bought it, becuase I don't have an XBox and I really wanted to play through the campaign. I generally agree with what you say agy, but you are being a little agressive.
Sorry, that's just me. I get passionate about these failed marketing ploys. I just don't want to see anyone fall to it again and come out with dissatisfaction. You had ulterior motives to buy the game; some how I doubt thousands of others didn't just buy the game for the campaign aspect though.
Wow... i can't believe that halo 2 only has 60-80 players online.... but didn't halo 2 for vista sell millions of copies?
I doubt it hit over 5,000 units. When the game was first released, it was a ghost town. Only specific stores had copies, and they were even limited then. Like I said, without any clear backing up for it or a clear direction to a community, the game was dead before it was even Live.
