I've said it before, and I'll say it again. If you've NEVER played Halo Multiplayer, then read the guide and use the tactics. Once you've played some, you will realize just how LITTLE WORTH they actually have. If you try this crap against a halfway-decent player, you will get OWNED fiercely. Trust me.

And, if you don't believe me, just get onto XBox Connect, and PM eatmychoda, and I'll show you just how fiercely you can be owned.

Not a bad lessen for noobs just getting started. The rest of you complaining, you must be a pro that knows everything so why are you evan here?

Anyways, only thing I think should be corrected/added is this...

You dont have to throw a gernade by the banchy and knock it off the bridge. Then you just have to clime down the wall (its thin but you can jump down to it) to get to it or worse take the elivator and have to do another room. Why not just snipe the elite that jumps into that banchy? then you get to not only dog fight it out with the other one...or you can also save the second with a lil quickness for your partner (if playing coropitive) and then fly up to the platform and snipe?

Idunno, knocking it off the bridge seems kinda dumb. Whatever works for yea tho, this way is a little more fun/challenging. Try it if you havent already.

exelent guide, i got acouple more exelent campain sniper points. once you get the early banshee in aotcr, fly through the tunnels and come out to the big tower. fly by and shoot at the doors so a bunch of cov. come out. do this on both sides then fly up to the top and snipe away. also another one of my favs is from the first aotcr bridge down on the cov. at the end of 2 betrayals. i almost ran out of amo there was so many of them.

/\Yes, standing on the bridge at the end of 2 betrayals is crazy, take a sniper rifle and a garnade launcher. When doing this with two players, you can have one on top and one attack from the ground. The result is rockets desenting from the sky on unexpecting fo's. (Most entertaining for the person on the ground to watch)

I think I really learned everything about Halo (honest).

It's true, the best snipers get lots of head shots.
Put your sensitivity to 10 and get used to it.
When sniping, do nothing but go for head shots. Yes, you will start off getting your ass kicked because you are missing, but hey, all huge muscleheads started off as that weakling at the gym at some point, you get me? Take the beatings.
As you become more proficient at head shots, you are getting better at not only being overall more lethal, but those aiming skills allow you to get a shot somewhere, anywhere on someone in a pinch, that is, when they are moving, when they are coming at you, when just a little bit is showing, when you want a kill before you die, etc.
Pretty soon you'll be getting the majority of your kills with head shots, and your skills will make everyone else your bizzies.

Just for useless info, the sniper scope is only a 8x zoom on xbox, it just says 10x, just trust me it is.

I'd take that with a grain of salt. (McMurder's response.)

Oh yeah, nice guide, Hikaru. I knew you'd turn out to be somebody. :)

Um...some pointers of my own. I might be coming at a foreign angle for most people, but, I'll try. You'll notice how Mr.Whosywhatsit claims you have to have your senstivity at 10. Any Counterstrike player knows that every player has their own opinion of the best sensitivity level. Some of the best snipers I've seen have their sensitivity down at 4 (and keep in mind that in Counterstrike, you're working on a scale of 16, not 10) and can still whip around and kill you.

On an Xbox, that's considerably harder because you can't simply twitch your wrist to turn, but that doesn't mean you have to change your senstivity if you are used to it. With defualt senstivity, I love running, jumping, crouching, and firing a sniper rifle/pistol at the entire time. A good sniper can track you....but when their scope deactivates, not too many good snipers remember to fire. Oh yeah...so on to my tip.

Go here: http://freespace.virgin.net/bad.cyborg/index.html

Set up the rockslide megabattle scenario on Halo. Have the sniper marine in the side seat of the Hog and an armored marine (you'll know the difference between armored and unarmored, trust me) in the gunner seat. Cruise into the area, let the Hog attract attention, and watch as all of the sudden you have 60+ Covenant targets to deal with. Extra ammo's by the lifepod.....you are playing on Legendary, correct? Now, what makes this scenario different from Hikaru's AotCR tip? Close range combat. If you've seen any of the spectacular movies over at HBO or elsewhere, you'll notice that the best Halo players are either shotty whores or people who can use the sniper rifle like the pistol at clost range. And what better way to learn to aim with that super small reticule (consider it a good thing;among guns, it's the most def. crosshair you have, as it is so small) other than to have a sea of Covenant about you?

And maybe you will fool with senstivity. Who knows? Good look, and have fun at those Halo LANs.

Camping, you know how many i have sniped camping, in a game of 50kills, 43 were sniping and out of the 43, 35 were from the same spot. i was camped in a position where i was well hidden, and i fired only once, at the head. however, i do move around, but i enjoy camping. and yes, i do documate every deatyhmatch i have, from what weapons used, level, kills with what weapons etc. and in many of my games, i snipe and camp.

so camping isn't that bad, but sniping is deadly

Yah camping is good if ur playen agenst a bunch of little kids, but when u play with good playes, sniping is out of the picture, ur good if u can get 2 kills before ur hit, the pistal is just as good, people can take u out from the other side of the map if ur not watchen, I dont like to snipe, i think its a cheap way to get kills, and its no honer to get kills no people like that, i like close up action were its 1 on 1, I cant just sit around killing people i rather peg a few close up, so they know how good u realy are. thats how it is when i play, i dont know about all u other people. Thats just what i think, but those are good tips if u want to play cheap, if u can call it playing while u snipe.

Does anyone know how many players are going to be able to play in a server on Xbox Live in Halo 2? I've heard it's going to be 32 and I've heard 16. Can anyone clarify this?

Pretty good strategy Hikaru. But I have a few changes that you might want to make to the sniping practice part. First, you should get a sniper rifle when you are in the valley with the marines. Then, when you get to the land bridge, only kill the first elite, the second elite before it jumps into the banshee, and any jackals that are around the entrance. Then you can jump in the banshee and destroy, or, if you can, flip it over with a blast from the fuel rod cannon before the elite can jump into it, and fly up to the small walkway above the pyramid, instead of the platform, because it is higher up.

There are three walkways that you can fly onto, but if you go onto the top one, it will look hazy and it will be hard to see, so I would prefer the middle one. Then, if you need it, you can fly down into the pit at the bottom of the valley for some sniper ammo. Also, when you fly up to the walkway, make sure that the banshee doesn't fall off, or you will be screwed. If it does, press the X button quickly to get into it before it falls off.

Then, if you just want to finish the level, you can fly down to the gate and kill all the Covenant down there on the other side of the gate (you could also fly down and get the rocket launcher to make it even easier). However, if you don't want to cheat to beat AotCR on legendary, you could always fly back down to the bridge and finish the level like a true Halo expert (make sure that you fly the banshee in front of the door on the opposite side of the bridge that you came from to get the two hunters and the several grunts that come out of it, so that you can kill them, too. Also, to kill the hunters easier and to save ammo, shoot them in the orange spot on their back for a one-shot kill).

ok as he left out the tank bit hears one of my tricks, if the tank is coming towards you the driver will be slightly to your right on the tank, wait till the coisair turns red then pump out 2-3 shots on him and if this doesn't work just lob a plasma grenade onto the tank, that should deal with it, and also say you see a wart hog speeding into the distance and you gotta kill it to have a chance of winning, just get yer sniper rifle and do the same thing, wait till the circle is red, that means the gun is pointing on to the guy in the wart hog, then unload 2-3 shots at him, also for the snipers who are crap at close range combat...

Just have a shotgun or assualt rifle (shotgun works best) cos in 1-2 shots at closeish range can take out the enemy and make sure you stay safe, with the assualt rifle just unload a clip with good acuracy while side stepping making it harder for him to hit you, also for a good acuracy test just side step about 10 m away from a tree in a circle unloading rounds at it which helps when you are moving while shooting.

Since I am a pro sniper myself, I gotta say that this guide kicks ass! But I wouldn't be so critical on that camper part. Camping has saved my team many times and in CTF Blood Gulch a camper has often killed the enemy carrier. I have secured my place on the list by camping. So in some ways, camping is sniping. And a helluva annoyance for your rivals! xD

hey i noticed you left out a big subject when it comes to multiplayer gameplay. encountering other snipers. I've found that when you come into combat with another sniper (meaning they fired first) the best tactics to have are to be able to shoot on the strafe. If they shot first (and your not dead) you have a great opportunity to tag 'em if you learn your parameters when your jumping you can set your sights and jump and have their head right in your sights timing is very important but if you can master these techniques you can own anyone(s) hee hee on the battlefield.

I don't like sniping to much. I like it up close and personal but I'll be honest and say I've had my share of sniping before and now. Here is a really good tip. This has probably saved my ass and my brothers also. STUDY the levels. But don't just study the way it is, also study its color. Then, when you are going to play a certain level, try to change your armors color to at least something similar to that of the level. It will really help to camouflage you a bit, not entirely but enough to pop on an unsuspecting player. My brother is an artist with a Sniper rifle and he does this a lot with me. Even another sniper will have trouble locating you becuase of this, proven by me and my brother. Good exmple is, Sidewinder. just take the white or grey armor and you can easily blend in. Of course you have to locate a place where it will be most effective. It can help a lot.

The really important thing in sniping is instead of firing once looking to see if you hit and then firing again just squeeze off 2 shots as fast as u can. that way if you do not get a headshot people are dead before they move into cover. NOTE: this is only good advice when your near an ammo point as its fairly ammo heavy
