Using an example against people that have no life beyond video games barely even counts. Those groups are just too damned obsessed so you are forced into using fewer weapons. And this is a Halo 1 sniping guide, not a Halo 2 sniping guide. Although many of the principles are the same.

No problem. I'm glad that you've been able to scare people inside a video game.

This is in reply to angrysk8r:
Yeah, I get you. No offense taken. I just posted what generally works - people have all sorts of skill levels, and some aren't as good with a pistol or BR, while almost anyone can pick up a shotgun and give you a facelift with it. Personally, I'm pretty good with an AR, but I gave it a lower rank, since it isn't the easiest weapon to use effectively. But, you make a good point; I generally just take a pistol and SR myself.
Peace

the pistal is by far one of the best weapons in the game yeah most new players can't stand it but I've allways used it and it's allways saved my ass in a firefight.
Especially when fighting hunters that one shot kill capability is the best thing that can happen in a fight against more than one or even only one hunter

the key to the pistol/sniper is to just lead the target...no matter what

agreed leading a shot with a moving target helps to make the shot more accurate buts its's still fun when a newb uses a rocket launcher and you waste him with a pistal the look on their face is priceless

Ummm....the part that said "NO CAMPING"....well In real life people don't run around and snipe. Snipers like in Iraq sit there for hours waiting for targets. If your talking about camping for like the whole game, then I agree on that; however, if some1 camps in a spot simply because they have a good view of things, pinned down, and they're concealed, then there is no reason to move.

Pretty hard to camp with snipe in halo 1. SInce everyone starts off with a pistol.

its true in real life that people wait for hours or even days for a target, but in halo you don't have the option of that much time/cover. In halo, if you camp in one spot, and you're playing anyone half decent, they will find you in no time. It's much better if you only stay for brief periods of time, may be take a few shots, then move and keep moving unless you have a coordinated team that can cover you.

the best way to practice headshots and perfecting leading and memorizing spawn points in h1 you simply must put a rubber band on a second controller and let the "sim" run through the map. do it over and over. I did the same with the pistol and stickys. I memorized the spawns this way and learned to get head shots 95 percent of the time.

if you dont have broadband, or you dont have many friends available to come over, its an ok way to get better, but if you want to get good, you need to go on XBC and join some games offhost, or even host some if you have major trouble with lag (it should be ok if you find a host and you have sub70 ping)
there are also maps online, if you look enough, that show an overhead view of the map and all of the spawn points, i suggest if you're going to get serious about the game then you should at least know most of those spawns

GT SMITHERSXx

BR is my weapon of choice!

i think the best way to get good at halo halo2 is just from good old practice
