othing should merit the actual killing of a person. People have motivations that are based upon their temperaments. This is something no one can control past the age of 12. Human nature is greedy and focused around progression. People are always trying to progress to the next level of something, but are they happier once they get there. Maybe for a few minutes, but then their goals change. However, this new goal is harder to reach, and so the anxiety increases. Humans stress levels are chronically higher than that of animals, simply because of our instinct to worry about things. Through this need to progress people cause conflict, and this conflict can rise to th point where someone gets killed. Once you are dead you are dead...thats the end. No medals or pats on the back; you are dead.

A solution s isolationalism. Each nation has the ability to provide us with our basic needs. We may not be rich, but what I need to tell you is this;
Above the poverty level (roughly 15-20,000 a year), there is NO correlation between money and happiness. Isnt all we are trying to do is be happy. On $20,000 a year, one can live n an apartment with food and family. They are happy. Furthermore, there is a 70% depression rate for people that win a lottery of 1 or more million. And money was supposed to make you happy.

In isolationalism, war does not exist, and massive numbers of people do not die. Massive numbers of people get to feel happy. And what is the purpose of life; to be happy. Nothing else, no eternal glory or any of that propaganda. Just the biochemical endorphine release known as happiness.

Give peace a chance!!!

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

So you are offering to isolate this group for happiness? Ironic that you advertise in the Community forum, no?

Besdies the point, advertising isn't even allowed in this forum, or any forum outside The Classieds.

Bungie forums weren't exactly intended to be used as an outlet for preaching.

The community forum? It's for things that regard Bungie.net: site suggestions, profile issues, community events, and similar sort. The Septigon, the name of this forum, is to Bungie.net as The Underground is to Bungie Studios.

Exactly. Your post is more towards a blog.

And that is a very good point if you feel that such progression is neccesary. But look at it from this perspective...

Human biomass is only exceeded by squid and termites. We as a society have eaten away more of our planets resources in the last century than any other species in its entire existance. Our technological advancement won't be able to allow us to use other planets before our planets population capacity is met. Then everyone will experience hunger and pain and all that. Inovations in medicine simply deepen the problem. there are too many of us. There are more greedy people and therefore more variation in standards of living (case people are always trying to best everyone). Different viewpoints because of this cause conflict. Think of how much happier we would be with 6.6 million instead of billion.

And the only way to cure cancer is to stop genetic mutation....There goes evolution

Excuse me? If you are referring to the Campaign Contest I had linked, I don't see how orginizing a contest, sponsoring it with my own money no less, constitutes a blog. Please, enlighten me.

that was an exageration but i havent thought into your point much. My point was that there were too many people to convince in existentialism. If most people wont support peace than it can't happen. I understand that rationally world peace can't happen at this point. But 6.6 million people interacting with eachother peacefully (in an isolation country) rather than 6.6 billion being achievement motivated warjunkies allows for a model to be set and lets those who want to be peaceful be peaceful.

Please use a personal blog, or private group if you insist on using Bungie.net, when discussing politics or religion or personal philosophy or similar ethical/moral construct. A game forum is not a very good (or appropriate) place for this sort of thing.
