A system like that is only necessary in a democracy, unlike this forum.
Time wasting and ultimately pointless.

Obviously you don't know how many bans we hand out daily, or you wouldn't have proposed the idea as such. The process you've suggested is way too long and tedious to be worth it, especially since membership on this site isn't actually that important (in comparison to life, which is important enough to hold trials over).

So my answer is a flat out no. If someone wants to dispute a ban, they can take it up with a master moderator, not take it to the Supreme Court.

It's true, when we agreed to the Terms of Use for this site the short version of it was "You have no rights, play nice." Achronos has stated many times that this site is not a democracy.

Anyone but Foman. He smells like cheese.

This sounds highly efficient and quick, just like our real judicial systems.

Sadly, I am just about filled up on my pro bono book. I will, however, happily represent you for my normal rates.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

I could type a long rebuttal, but that would be a waste of everyone's time.

Letting 8 random members overturn Achronos make me laugh out loud. I thought this was simply misdirected at first, but now I'm wondering if this is some elaborate joke parodying The Septagon. I mean you have everything: a misguided idea that is impossible to put into practice, vague complaints about the moderators' actions, the illusion that members have any power, taking the internet too seriously, a very long OP, and more or less good grammar. If this is a joke, you are a genius!

Your convulted system sounds like the perfect way to ensure that any action whatsoever is bogged down in painful beaurocracy, causing almost nothing to ever get done. Our iron-fisted, usually benevolent ;-) tyranny is much easier.

I banned 30 people yesterday. You know what I would do if I had to wait for a group of their peers to decide if they deserved punishment? I would blacklist the jury. The whole lot. Gone.

We move at such a pace that this system would ruin our effective moderation of this forum.
God dammit, I hate changing accounts to view my files...

Mourne not your comrades who must dwell / too strong to strive -
Within each steel-bound coffin of a cell, / Buried alive;
But rather mourne the apathetic throng / The cowed, and the meek -
Who see the world’s great anguish and its wrong / And dare not speak.

hmm... it's been a LOOOONG time since I bothered to touch my signature, but that's just so.... Stalinesque, I might have to take the effort. And I think I've had Hobo in my sig for quite long enough.

Or maybe not. I'm feeling supremely lazy today.

Oh, right, the thread. Yeah, no.

If such a system ever were put into place, I really would market myself as a lawyer.

We'd make a killing.

I think I'd prefer to keep the "Judge Dredd" style of moderating.

Only because he used a Judge Dredd reference, I'm siding with Ash on this one.

Exactly my point, has anyone else seen that little message at the top of the screen when you load up Bnet? Sometimes it says: "Welcome to Bungie.Net, You have no rights here"

You also agree to it when you sign up on Bungie.net. It's in the CoC under the short version section.

If this is a joke, you are a genius!

It has to be.

I can't imagine how somebody who took the time to compose a long, well thought-out post doesnt simultaneously hold the intelligence to see how flawed the idea is.

Or he's just brand new here and doesnt fully comprehend the sheer volume of traffic here at Bungie.net.

Halo3Planet, the place for all things Halo 3..

Need help finding skulls, make sure to go here.

I guess I realize why you'd think this idea may work, but in reality it wouldn't. I would trust only a couple members on this site to be fair, and more than half the community would be totally unfit to decide blacklists at all . Also, like it has been said, it would take way too much time, and the moderators barely have enough time as it is.

There is a reason I am user ID 1 and my account creation date is before this site came online.

One...two...three...four...FIF!!

I plead the fif! I plead the fif!

I'm in the same situation that Ghandi is. Quite perplexed by this post. I cannot tell if the original poster is posting one of the best joke threads on B.net I've ever seen...or if he is being genuine.

Needless to say that if this system were in place that nothing would ever get accomplished. Bureaucracies are fun little creatures to study and poke fun at, but I'd hate to see B.net ever turn into one. Because if it did, that obviously means something terrible has happened to Achronos, because he'd never let that happen.

So basically, the OP of this thread is threatening Achronos!!
