Before the release of KOTOR II we had both shared our feelings on the game. He expressed an almost fanatical love for the game he hadn't played, and to counter I looked at some of the screens and came to the conclusion it wouldn't rival the first.

His prediction was correct, it was awesome. Though, to save myself, his prediction was also incorrect because he came to his decision based on the wrong reasons - which is to say, absolutely none at all. What we had to judge from were a collection of graphically inferior screenshots, a relatively unknown developer and a release date that put KOTOR II at only a year away from the original. I'd say my original opinion that it would be a flop was the best - was it wrong? Yes. However, I took information I had and made a decision - he used blind faith, based on nothing but his own imagination.

Anyway. Kotor II is great. I haven't beaten it yet (I'm about 26 hours into it), but so far I've enjoyed it. The graphics are noteably terrible, and the gameplay many times feels buggy, but I love the story and philosophical twists some of the characters throw on things. This game presents brand new perspectives to the Star Wars universe that make it much more refreshing and interesting. The 'influence' system also makes it great fun to play - based on your actions and conversation choices you can effectively influence your allies to follow your footsteps. If a character in the last game swung good or evil, they stayed that way. This creates much more depth to the moral tree. I can't wait to see how your decisions can pan out.

*spoiler*

(my favorite innuendo thus far has been, "board her loading ramp" - or somesuch. It left me laughing for a good five minutes)

I'm apologizing because his prediction was correct. I like to think of myself as a person who's rarely wrong, but when I am I feel compelled to apologize for it and offer a defense.

Don't look at yourself as a person who is rarely wrong; that's the pessimistic point of view. Look at yourself as a person who is mostly right :-)

I suppose to you the glass is completely full. With me it's overflowing, which tends to annoy some people.

I'm guessing Flamechu, but I don't know if he's a Star Wars fanboy, just a KOTOR fan was my understanding. MCs Bro is the definition of Star Trek Fanboy, he speaks Klingon. Weirdest thing to try and interpret EVER.

And to start something new. Star Wars Republic Commando will be my new FPS to play. Yes that means I just might leave Halo 2. But not completely.

"My knee is bleeding, can I have a bandaid?" "Today its your knee, and in 10 years it'll be your wrists, why are you making this my problem?"

Do this again and I'll brand your ass with the banning prod

Republic commando is going to own.

I hope Obbi has found the little surprise in KOTOR II. So he can either love or hate...again.

Resistance is futile. Here's your first lesson, repeat after me:

You know, if you forget that one R, you'd be asking them to bite your finger. Klingon is a very delicate language.

This should help.

Is KOTOR2 better than the first? Also, I heard that there's a Republic Commando demo in the game. Does it rock? Also, in case you didn't know, Republic Commando comes on 3-3-2005. I saw pre-orders for it at Best Buy.

My question goes to Obbi:

I'm going to get KOTOR II for Christmas. I was wondering how long you think it'll take to beat the game. The first game took me 23 hours to beat on Light Side, practically rushing through. How long have you been playing KOTOR II and how far are you through it? How long do you think it'll take you to beat it once?

He said he's played it for about 26 hours and isn't anywhere near betting it.

People need to learn how to read...
