Whatever happened to all the ragdoll physics in Halo 2 when there are more than 8 players? It looks beautiful when you snipe someone and see them rolling off the hill. But when your playing big CTF or team games, when someone dies due to an explosion, the Spartan/Elite just waves his arms and legs like he's swimming. Ragdoll physics are beautiful. Seriously, what happened to them? Please make a pattch or update to fix this.

Maybe it has something to do with personal settings?

No, ragdoll turns off above 8 players to help keep ping down.

I don't understand what corpse physics have to do with ping.

Rarely are corpse physics actually synced up online. Ever noticed somebody 'claiming victory' over your corpse but they were standing in what seemed to be the wrong place? Now you know why. ;)

Increase of amount of bandwidth needed for everyone to see it at the same time. But, I agree, it shouldn't have to turn that 'off'.

I'm there but, man this is really starting to sound like communism.
Long live the MAW.

I can't see how that can be a problem. Battlefield 2 (PC) runs 64 people at once, ragdoll physics and all. Strike At Karkand, 64 player madness. :D

Remind yourself this is Halo 2 Vista we're talking about.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Why cant there at least be a setting?

The bungie.net community is the halo PC community that is renowned for being unbelieveably sucky.

Haha, funny 'cause it's true...

One of the most dissapointing aspects of the game was the relative lack of options for pretty much anything.

I think the bodies flying in the air always had the flailing arms and legs. When the ragdoll is on dead bodies will flip from headshots, fall and roll on the ground but when it's off the bodies will fall in a manner I recognize from Halo CE with bodies always lying face down with the left leg raised chest level.

Honestly, I like seeing this classic death animation when you snipe someone to the head and instead of flipping he does this twirl where he spins his head almost all the way around before hitting the ground. It's a distinct visual cue that you inflicted or received a headshot. Personally I never really liked the ragdoll too much because while the bodies would flip satisfyingly from headshots, the bodies almost never seemed to behaved realistically on the ground. Limbs would often get stuck in the geometry, vibrate, twitch or roll down an incline with the most irritating sounds to accompany them. I don't miss the ragdoll when they're gone.

I think you misunderstood me.

By not being synced online, I'm saying the game client is responsible for how the corpse physics react, relative to where the client was told the player died by the server.

Basically, zero bandwidth used. No relevance to ping.

Yeah, sorry Btcc. I misunderstood what you said. Didn't read all of it. Again, my apologies.

I totally agree. Halo 2 and Halo 3 need less rag doll and more distinguishable consistent death animation, along with cow bell.

Yeah, well, Halo 2 is a little, "not enough" ragdoll. Its like the Master Chief or Elite is swimming, which looks -blam!-.
