Yes, but only if you can actually see what's going on inside. It's hard to remove territorial biases no matter where you are from. There is a huge disparity between a stereotypically American conception of the American psyche and a stereotypically European (generalized) one. I'm not saying either is completely accurate.
Anyway, Communism and Capitalism are both socioeconomic systems; neither are forms of government. You are right to distinguish between Communism and autocrative forms of government. Anyway, I don't think a democratic government makes much sense in general. But especially here, in a niche community, a more autocratic government makes a lot more sense than a democratic one. My reasoning is simple: expertise. The experts on any subject should be in charge of (or at least greatly influence) making decisions regarding that subject. Why let a newcomer have an equal say in something they know very little about? It's a lot like actors voicing opinions on foreign policy...
To a mod: Would a discussion of socioeconomic systems qualify as a political discussion? Or is that rule in place to avoid promoting specific candidates/causes?
