What ever you want to call it, at first I thought the Plasma sabre should not be in Halo 2(the multiplayer atleast). But I kind of figured out to make it a little more fair then a one hit thing. Since its a plasma sword, it should be able to take out the MC's shield with one hit, but actualy killing the MC, should takes perhaps atleast another hit, or maybe two. I think thats the only way to make it fair in multiplayer, what do you guys think?

Why not just use normal melee then. You could kill in 3 hits, plus have a weapon out at the same time. I think a 1 hit kill would be fair, it would only be good close quarters, and it should take up one of your weapon slots.

Thats true, good point.

=)

MSXL: The Last Honest Chapter

Yeah, and besides, the energy from the sword destabilizes MC's shields, so it can cut right through. A one hit kill makes sense.

You must first UNDERSTAND and HONOR the melee attack before you may say anything towards it's further tweaking. If we were ever able to wield the coveted Plasma Sword, it's customary one-hit-kill should be maintained, even in multiplayer. If you're screaming around, big azure tapered beam swingin by your wrist, blood pumping, pulses pounding, nerves hardened to starship-hull-thickness, you don't want to have to toast some rocket butt-wipe with two, even THREE hits!!! One silent, satisfying thrust of the Energy Saber should be all it takes to slaughter your foe.

Come on, fellas. Throwing yourself at an enemy wielding the Battle Rifle should require no more than one slice-n-dice. It'd be USELESS if you were required to hit the enemy more than once.

Don't even get me started about it's utilization in Single-Player.

It definetely needs to be one hit, with how many times I was taken out by a sword weiliding elite either rushing me or one I didn't see, and they only took one hit to take me out. Yeah I'm ready for some revenge, I definetely want it in single-player and it would be hella-cool in multi-player

The Plasma sword probably won't even be included in Halo 2.

I know I posted a reply about this before once or twice but I haven't been able to find those since I posted them... anyway....

I think that the one hit kill should stay.... It is a close in hand-to-hand weapon so it has no range.... One of its advantages would be one hit kill that would be the same thing as a melee attack from behind... And with the more intelligent A.I. with a search and destroy attitude it is going to require more stealth... With that in mind it would make an excellent weapon if you had the ability to turn the sword on and off... If you can turn it on and off then it would give you the ability to make it a great stealth combo with the invisible power-ups... And with the Sword turned off it should also be equal to the weapon being put away so you can do the Super fast run mode.... Then you can turn invisible with the sword turned off and run across the map and go at it.... Just think of it your standing there and all of a sudden you see a blue plasma flash right in front of you from a sword turning on and your dead.... The only other thing that would have to be done to put a limit on the sword is a battery like all the other plasma weapons.... You would have to make it either a timer or every swing take so much away... Like a battery power of 100 and every swing takes away 10 points of power or like every second takes away one or two points... What do you guys think???

They definately gotta put the plasma sword in. Its not that much of an unfair advantage, if you time it right you can jump over the swing, and also it reveals where you are. i think if bungie balanced it properly it would be Tight.
