You can only download the trial, not the full version. If you wish to play the full game, you can buy a new disc.

Call Microsoft Support and see if you can't trade in whats left your disk for a new one.

You are... FALSE!

My friend's CD got really scratched up once (but still had the CD key), and he couldn't play the game. So I got a program like Power ISO, ripped the contents of the disk and stuffed it in to a .ISO file, which he then mounted to play the game again.

Just go torrent a Halo PC .ISO file or something, get a program like Daemon Tools, and "mount" it. It makes the operating system think there's actually a Halo PC CD in one of the disk drives, but it really just emulates it. So, you can install it like that, and play without needing a CD key.

And if this is "piracy", I deem it not. If you already have a legit CD key, it's probably alright. I mean, I still have my CD key, but I mount it sometimes because I get tired of fumbling with the CD :P

Is it mounted on a virtual drive? Look in My Computer for the drive.

yea, its mounted, but when I run/open it a black box comes up and just dissapears in about half a second, could it be because i don't have halo installed right now? I installed in on my disc a really long time ago, then unistalled it. will i still be able to play?

wow um that's really sucks mate, it worked for me with Daemon Tools and everything. For a last resort, I usually uninstall everything, wipe all traces of Halo off of my hard drive, then retry the whole process from scratch. If that doesn't work, then just call Microsoft Support...

It's a waste of memory IMO, I'd rather keep switching discs..

Just double click the halo.exe... oh and if its still installed..

http://m0006.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_halo.shtml#Halo%20[MU LTI]%20No-CD/Fixed%20Image%202

Its a miniimage, which you mount like its the normal CD. Saves alot of space
