I just got it to see what it was like. As much as i love Halo 3, each game has it's own unique feel and strengths and sometimes it's fun to play CE. And since I'm not good with the mouse and keyboard I figured seeings how it's free it'd download it. It's actually kinda cool but with one flaw... there's nobody there! At least not for the original Halo (plenty in H2 though). Where did all the CE diehards go? They surely couldn't have gone extinct that fast. I thought their population was still going strong.

Wow, the CE population must have bottomed out totally. : ( Shame.

There's almost no one on XBC anymore, and as a result, I ,and I'm assuming a lot of other people, stopped using it. I would much rather play Halo than Halo 3, but it's difficult to do anymore.

I would much rather play them all, which puts me in the awful perdicament of neglecting one of my favorite games. : (

If you ever feel the urge to play on XBC, check to see if ChupaDude is on. That's me and I'm always trying to find a good game. I love playing 3v3 or mor on maps like Battle Creek or Longest. I also playe 3v3 on BG and it turned out suprisingly fun.

I'm a pretty big fan of Battle Creek, and BG, but I tend to like most of the maps that aren't called Chiron. I have unfortunately not played Halo since Halo 3 has been out. My copy of Halo and my original Xbox are across the state, but I should be getting those this weekend. The problem with playing on XBC is that I'll have difficulty finding additional people to play on the same Xbox as me, since most of my friends don't live around here. From what I remember, 1 player on an Xbox isn't typically desired.

You'd swear though, the way some people complain, that there'd be a nice steady little community of CE diehards. At least I always assumed there was. Maybe there never was; I dunno.

I would drop Halo 3 instantly if Halo had online support, but the XBC population is so small that it doesn't seem worthwhile much of the time. A lot of the diehards probably know other diehards, and they probably don't need to play online. My guess is that much of the community consists of LAN gamers, and the communities are likely split up geographically. That being said, I intend to be on XBC a lot more after this weekend.

I think I saw you on the other day Chupadude, I think you were FW'd tho =/ any hoo this lack of Good news about Halo:CE and XBL is slowly driving me back to Starcraft... at least I can hope for Starcraft 2 not to suck, right? I'm not gonna get my hopes up tho, sequels never seem to be as good as the original.

FW'd? I can honestly say I have no idea what that means.

Meh. I prefer Battle Creek. I'm just like the gamers on RvB. Kill the Reds Kill the Reds! God, now I want to go watch that again! The greatest battle scene of any war movie!

I have a lot of favorite maps in Halo, but I guess that's to be expected in a near perfect game.

I think that maps like Beaver Creek are about as good as it gets. They have just enough obstacles and corners to promote the use of other weapons (those not being of the handcannon variety) while giving enough straightaway areas to make the pistol enjoyable. Longest does well at that too, but I'd like a lot more if it weren't for the little pits that are on the bottome floor...they piss me off!

... !!! XD We have a customer!

Yest it does. Go to xbconnect.com and you can download a free version or a pro version for like $14 a month. It supports hundereds of games. The same connection rig that you use to play XBL will work. I can't give you all the details (perhaps someone else can) but once you have your account you can go to a help chatroom and one of the guys on there will explain what you need to do in more detail. If you're the type of person that doesn't like H2 or H3 then I'd reccomend it. It can get frustrating at sometimes though.

Shadowrun & Halo 3

Heh, cool $14 a month though.. well I thought It was to hard to make online multiplayer on Halo CE so thats why they didnt make xbox originals do it? Just dosent add up, I like all Halo 1,2 and 3 Its just Halo CE I never had the chance to play multiplayer on and is a really good game

That's what the appeal was for me too. I've never gotten to do it. As for the smelly fish... I don't know either. All the softwar wizes will back MS in that re-writing Halo to support Live would be a pain in the but, but if all these nerdy teens can write tunneling software for it I don't know why MS couldn't have. maybe they didn't figure it to be worth the hassle.

Shadowrun & Halo 3

Same here. I love playing all halo games. I wished that Bungie would of put Online play in Halo CE. I tried to play it on my computer. I suck at mouse and keyboard and my computer power isn't that great. It would be nice if we could play online on the 360.

Two questions:

What does XBC stand for?

Do I need to download Combat Evolved to play it in XBC?

Combat Evolved is still, in my opinion, the best game ever, and the best game in the trilogy. The campaign is astounding and the Multiplayer maps awesome. If I can find people to play it with, I may never touch Halo 3 again...
