the old layout bungie had for halo 2 player stats, where you could see all of your ranks, and a rough estimate of how close you were to the next level, it helped alot more than just this view your highest rank, which you may not even hold any more

"It's not who I am underneath, but what I do that defines me."

I think Bungie intentionally took that out.

I dunno why, but I think it's because the ranks were meant to match people up according to their skill level, not to go form one rank to the next. It's also possible that they were thinking it might reduce cheating. Who knows.

Exactly, it's just as easy to go and check your ranks when you turn on the game.

Unfortunately, this is not possible since trueskill does not provide a linear experience. It depends on, for example, the levels of players you play against -- this mattered in Halo 2 of course but there was a set amount of exp required for any rank -- and this cannot be predicted in the same way.

What I would like to see is the old game-browsing feature, where it was actually possible to go through old games without having to do so much clicking . I do not really see any reasons for that change.

Firstly, that's correct, the system is no longer the same, and cannot be displayed the same at all. It's not quite so simple as an experience bar is.

Secondly, I'm not sure what you're talking about here. You can still browse through old games just as easily as you used to, if not more easily than before.
