Hey Halo fans, after listening to Microsoft's press release and subsequent demonstration of Halo 2's multiplayer at E3. (Which is available at www.gamespot.com if you haven't already seen it.) I noticed that at a certain point the Microsoft spokesman (whose name escapes me at the moment) mentioned that Halo 2 would begin about where Halo left off. This lead me to ask the question of whether or not "about where Halo left off" meant that Halo 2 would include First Strike*. While this is of course just speculation from a rather vague statement, it could also mean that Halo 2 starts right where First Strike ends. Regardless of all this, what would you like to see as the beginning point of Halo 2?

*Note: In case you didn't know, First Strike is one of the Halo books, specifically the ont that takes place between Halo and Halo 2.

Good question. Ive thought a lot about this myself. I would like to start the game at the end of the original release trailer as MC is flying (falling with style) through the air, aiming for the Covenant Cruiser. The first level could take place on that ship.

I would like to see Halo 2 begin where First Strike left off. Would it not be cool to play the first level fighting your way into a facility in your Mark V armor to gain the Mark VI? Imagine 4 SPARTANS (including Kelly) by your side pressing slowly to the armory where you receive the armor and new weapons. As you enter one part of the level, your comrades fall one by one and you stand there, the last SPARTAN. I think it just screams Halo. *shrugs*

I would love to play the last part of First Strike where they blow up the Covenant armada.

Yeah, they could make a really cool cinematic where the Spartans meet the first Brute in the story just like in the book, and seeing it kill the spartan that died in that mission (can't think of her name at the moment) and then seeing its armor detonate from the bomb and kill the Covenant infantry looking over at it after it's dead (If you don't know what I just said, refer to First Strike, somewhere near the end.)

It could start almost anywhere, like on Earth, as First Strike left off on the journey back. Anyone without exclusive access to Bungie development would not get any information, as it'd ruin the game's beginning if you knew where it started.

1. Sharkguy1123 please change your sig, or at least press ENTER after every 20 or so "!".
2. You know what would suck? If HALO 2 is exactly like First Strike, like HALO 1 was like The Flood.

I remember an article about an interview of the writer. He said that the first book is before Halo 1 and the second book is after Halo 1. He said that he did'nt want to write a book about halo 1 because fans would conplain either that the book would of been not close enough to the game or was to much just like it.
