Hello,
I have been running Linux (Ubuntu) for about two years now. I have used Wine to make many games for Windows work on my Linux box. However, I logged on to XBC today to play some Halo 1, and there was only about one match going. This saddened me because I love Halo 1, and think it is the best Halo ever made.
I have a problem though. I want to run Halo CE without any bugs/crashes that can frequently happen when playing games using Wine, so I decided I would buy Windows and make a dual boot system with both Linux and Windows. I partitioned my harddrive correctly, and all I have to do now is buy a copy of Windows. However, I would preferrably like to buy Windows: Vista because I am expecting that as PC games come out over the next few years we will see more and more of them becoming Vista exclusive.
So I have a couple questions for the Halo PC community:
Does Halo 1 work on Windows Vista?
Are Halo: Combat Evolved and Custom Edition two different games?
If so, which should I buy?
Which has more players?
Thank you for any future help. ;)
