Everyone has a general idea of a team, but the thought of categorizing each member of it, isn't always as clear as it should be.

This type of team play should only be used when the team conists of Close friends, and or familiar team mates. ( Note Every team member should be fully stocked with Nades.

Assaulter - The Assaulter should be played by someone with violent tendencies in halo, BUT, I warn you If he also has body humpage tendencies and shooting a corpse with it's own weapon, he should be dog trained accordingly... His Armament SHOULD consist of ( If the level permits ) either a Assault Rifle/Shotgun combo, OR a Plasma Rifle/Shotgun combo.
The Plasma Rifle deals far more damage than the assault rifle. ( Trigger floored ) and freezes targets.. HOWEVER the Standard human MA5B Assault Rifle can hold a steady stream of fire for almost twice as long. ( Tapping the trigger, firing short bursts from the assault rifle is often more effective on this particular weapon ).
This player's only goal is to Charge the enemy base, Either by escorting a Ranger from his base to attack position and THEN charging in. Or just running straight for the base, Either way he is in the heat more than any other team member. The Shotgun is his best friend when he gets too close for comfort...

Assaulters Eat their Dead.... and yours.

Ranger - ( Long Distance ) - This member of the team stays back behind or under the safety of Cover, Equipped with a Rocket Launcher and a Sniper Rifle, OR a Sniper Rifle and a Pistol. Using Cover to his/her advantage is the key role this team member must play. If Discover Enemy Sniper fire will most likely take this player down.. So he must remain either VERY active, and pickikng off enemies to make the Assaulter's run easier, Or he must remain hidden until the opportune moment of attack.. ( i.e. ' You're Assaulter/Infiltrator is making off with the enemy flag and requires Cover fire. ) Active Camoflage is your friend. ( Read Hikaru's Snipering Guide for more information on this particular role. )

Support - No team game goes without at least one or all vehicles, and this role abuses them profusely. The Support's job is just that. SUPPORT Getting his Hog on a hill above the enemy position and keeping them pinned inside their base. Or unleashing an endless torrent of led and plasma, Equipped with both Human and Covenant Rifles Peppering the enemy position, Forcing snipers to avert their Attention.. Lobbing grenades into positions forcing them to take cover, Even if Only momentarily. To allow for the other team members ( More in particularly the Assaulter(s) to gain the extra ground and close on their designated targets. The Supporter is often just as deadly in a ghost as he is behind the triple barreled death stick known as the LAAG mounted on the back of his Hog. The Support will often be called upon to keep enemies Pinned while ground forces move up. In the Tank is where the Support truly shines. Atop a small mesa, or along a slightly raised ridge, With the massive shells and the machine gun the Supporter can give his team more cover fire than the other vehicles put together.

Infiltrator - Plasma pistol or pistol/shotgun - Sneak along the edges of the map. Park your ghost or hog beside the teleporter exit.. Strafe the edges of the map.. stop every now and again if you see a blip on your tracker.. scope around with the pistol make sure the threat has cleared.. then once again begin your slow journey to the other team's base. Slip in that back door.. or Crawl slowly to avoid tracker detection praying your active camo won't give out beside that bulky spartan with the shotgun gripped tightly. ONce inside Grab that flag Latch a glowing blue ball onto the Shotgunner's spine and break for the nearest ramp or ladder as you race toward the teleporter to your waiting ride.

More often than not this type of team should be used on a 12 or 16 player match.. including at least two rangers and a variety of assaulters. One infiltrator is all you need. Support fire is Always in demand to keep those snipers having to Re-Zoom their sniping... ( Geez I'm funny )

Anyways guys, I hope this team strategy helps you. It has Worked wonders for me and my group of friends. ( I'm the Psychopathic Infiltrator who often goes Assaulter/murderer at all the wrong times ) LOL Mix it up a little and create your own roles, but please this system makes everyone's life easier.. Known your role. PERFORM your role. and work as a team.

im a close range close quarters person i go in with AR or shot gun with the rocket launcher then mess people up at close range but that crappy pistol kills me so i have to dodge that while trying to hit him long range with a rocket and moving in the get him with my shotgun. then i defend my base by killing the enemy at theirs. sometimes i cap but thats usually left to the designated capper but if he dies close enough to me ill grab the flag.

My friends call me the hitman, They send me in CTF to the enemy base to slaughter anyone in the base in close combat, so the runner (one who gets in ghost with flag and runs) can do his stuff. Then from our base, our sniper covers our ass from other snipers.

i try to even myself out. assault when needed, defent when attacked, camp/sneak when barriered, and destroy when provoked. but im probably best at defending and camping/sneaking.

Talking strictly CTF here.

I do more reconn. and stalking than infiltration. Especially in Blood Gulch (when we are the reds).

I grab the sniper rifle, sneak round to the blue base in the warthog (through the tunnels) and grab the over shield powerup. Come out the other end (hopefully the carnage happening in other areas keep the enemy occupied) turn around and park the warthog facing the way you came (and behind the large rock pillar). I then get in the bush and watch. If the enemy spots you and you get the first shot in (and kill them) then you can get in the Warthog and sprint off back to the base to try again later on.

It is sometimes good to throw a few fragmentation grenades into the base (obviously when the enemy base isn't been attacked). The shadow of your position makes it harder for the enemy to discover your position (grenades less visible). It gives the impression that the base is under attack from a close oppenant and makes them a bit panicky.

The advantage of watching is that you can tell team mates what the enemy is doing. Many times I have alerted my team mates of an enemy getting in a tank. When it gets there, they are ready and prepared. I can also tell them if enemies are using the teleports. Every so often I take out an enemy but the one shot with the sniper rifle rarely gets me discovered.

When I find a time where nearly all team members are out in the field I tell all team mates to "back off". This means that they are not to purposly kill the enemy, but allow them to get close (so they are all out of the way), but not to let them get too far with the flag. Then I shoot in, grab the flag, get back to my Warthog and shoot back down the tunnels. As I'm doing this I order: "let rip" which tells my team mates to kill every player they can. By the time I get out of the tunnel all the enemy has respawned back at their base with no flag! I then run in to score the point

If I'm not the Reconn. player then I'm the Defender - 'Stealer'. I sit in the central bush (near the rocket launcher) with the sniper rifle and rocket launcher. The Reconn. player alerts us of an assault (which usually consists of a scorpion tank) and I wait for him to get close. I then jump out with the rocket launcher and blast him to hell! I then grab the vehicle and either bring it back for a full on assault (with all team mates) or go off on my own to deal out some carnage!

The stealer position also works quite well as a 'last resort' flag save. If the enemy gets a little too far with the flag and other team members are unable to take him out, they tell me and I just jump out and send them skywards as they pass!

Speaking just as Spartan was, I'm usually THE sniper. Not 'a', but 'THE'. On a custom CTF game, the score was Red: 5, Blue: 0 on Bloodgulch because I wouldn't let Blue get the flag halfway across the map ^__^

i usually just consider there 3 positions at all time, short, long, and gun turret.....

short, pretty obvious.

long, pretty obvious.

gun turret, any newb you play with or a camper, they remind me of gun turrets cause they are so hard to kill, either morally or pyhsically XD.

I usually make my name thegaurdians and i sit in my base with a plasma rifle waiting for someone to jump down, then i just load off my plasma rifle into their face. works most of the time.{rocket launcher in sidewinder, ctf only]

im THE (not "a") assulter. i sit in the gunners seat of a warthog while someone drives me half way accross the map. then they just dump me. ( i like being alone though) i normaly have a sniper to cover me (my friend follows me from behind with a sniper rfile. hes the best sniper) then i run around with a pistol and shotgun, grab the flag then i take one of the enemies ghost (lol) and go back to the base. our first objective is always to take ghost, than warthog and leave them with a slow, big scorpion tank. we just have gunners in the hogs' and 4 ghost just drive around clearing the path for me.
