Well my dad is a retired teacher, he taught high school up until 2002. Back in like 1997 or 98, the year before Columbine, he had this one student in his class. My dad says that I remind him of the kid a little and that it scares the -blam!- out of him. He never really talked about the whole "ordeal" until recently when I revealed some info. concerning this kid.
Anyway, I will get to that part later. This kid, David Harris is his name, was a student in my dad's history class. My dad seemed to like the boy and the boy respected my dad. To every other teacher in the school he was the bane of their career. David, according to my dad, had a dual-obsession with Friedrich Nietzsche and Charles Manson. He was a loner, his only friend died in a car accident, and was made fun of and beat up constantly. One morning before school, I remember watching the news with my father. There was a report on that a local boy's charred remains were found in his car on an old country road. The boy was believed to be David Harris. Bottles of alcohol were found in the burned car along with a red-container filled with gas. The police thought that the boy was drunk the night before and accidentally caught his car on fire; not being able to escape, the boy died in the car. The bodies of David's parents were found at their house when police went to inform them of their son's fate. The two had been tied up in chair back-to-back, both shot in the head.
A note in the mother's hand read: This is your world in witch we grow; and we will grow to hate you. -Charles Manson.
Apparently, David had killed his father and mother and ended up killing himself intensionally or not.
Back to the creepy part, a few months ago, I had a substitute teacher in my history class. He told the class to call him Mr. H. When the bell rang and i was just about out the door, Mr. H. yelled out "Harlow!". I turned around and approached him. He said, "Your Charlie's youngest son aren't you?" I shook my head yes. Then he handed me an envelope with my dad's name on it and instructed me to deliver it to him. I didn't open it because my dad gets really pissed when anyone opens his mail first. I could see his hand shaking when I handed him the letter, apparently he recognized the handwriting. Inside was the ten year old article of the death of David and his parents' murder.
On a small note attached to it and read:
"Nothing that is, is as it appears to be." -Nietzsche
Charlie, thanks for being there for me when no one was. For you are the only person I have met who accepted me for who I am. You have a very bright son who knows his place in the world. Look after him as you have looked after me. I hope I haven't failed you; i did what I knew what I had to do.
P.S. Mom and Dad send their regards.
The police looked into it and found nothing. Mr. H. was hired at the very last minute and the school had no record of his existence. The thing that scared me the most was how even though I knew Mr. H. was David Harris, I was concerned about safety of myself and my family. I can't help but wonder who's body was found in the burning car if David was alive and under the radar.
Jesus christ, that's either a really good story or a really creepy thing.
