Hello, people of Bungie.Net. Some of you may know me as the person who reported spotting what I believe to be an Elite in the woods deep in... Ohio. First off, plz excuse any grammatical errors as I have carpal tunnel and am typing with one hand - my bad one at that.
We have gone back to that forest twice since that encounter. Every time, my friends bring their weapons. A shotgun, two pistols, a bow, and a scoped hunting rifle. Myself? I had a lousy Chinese straight sword. But protection is protection, I suppose. Regardless, last weekend was our third trip back. So far, we had had no run-ins with anything alien. However, this was different.
We had just come back from shooting excersizes, and were low on ammo. We went down to the river, and left my friend Dan on watch. After we refilled our canteens, we came back, but a few dozen meters from camp, we heard a noise: Gulping, as if someone was eating. We all dropped to the ground, and slowly crawled forward. I glanced over the hill to our camp, and saw my worst nightmare. The same Elite from three years ago, I believe, was standing in our camp, eating our food. It was not midnight this time, only seven PM, so there was no mistaking it. It stood almost twice as tall as us, and this time carried a weapon on its side, a plasma pistol. Dan sat in a corner, bleeding in the chest. The Elite had stepped on him, and cracked his ribs from the look of it.
We decided to act, and drive it off. My friends jumped to their feet, and began to fire at it. It was caught by surprise, but immediately reacted, drew its pistol, and pinned down my friends. The ensuing firefight lasted a few minutes. Maybe a few seconds, I don't know. All I knew was the thing would tear us to shreds. I crept around, and got behind the thing. Once it couldn't see, I drew my sword, and charged forward. But luck, My friend Jake fired off a shot in time to drop its shields, and my sword dug about a foot through its back. The Elite screamed, and knocked me away, running off into the forest. It was bleeding, but we decided for our own sake not to follow the trail. We have made a pact, to never go into those woods again.
Interesting story. Too bad it's not original... come on man. You could have used the elite as an
example but as a main part of the story?
