i'm left handed but this is the first time i've thought of it which must mean deep down i don't really care. though this doesn't matter (and not to be insulting) but in biology terms left handed is a genetic defect and spartans are genetically superior so it wouldn't make sense

Defect? I doubt that. Neither Handedness is a sign of superiority or inferiority.

Saying that, I am proud to be sinister.

Right handed people live on average six years longer than left handed people do.

And I bet Spartans are ambidexterous, it is a trait that would assist them greatly in battle.

And back on topic, yes you should allow them to have a left-handed setup.

Am dual handed so don't give a rats backside either way, would guess that a Spartan would be similar though so it gives them another superiority in combat.

Being a lefty isnt genetic, i think its just what you grow up being used to. Its environmental...

its not a defect. you just learn to use one hand, and get used to using it more than the other.
simple. for example, a right handed can learn to be left handed, and vice-versa

on topic: maybe but who really cares?

off topic: while reading this i thought of shoting with one hand while you do something else like get a grenade so your shooting shooting shooting then you want to throw a grendade then you click the button and your still firing, of coures theres sideeffects like less acuracy and no reload until you throw the grenade but it would give you cover as you throw the grenade anyway like when your about to throw a grenade and you die you couldve survived if you where shooting so yea and another thing do you poeple think that its a good idea if you can ready the grenade like in counterstrike where when you hold the button down the grenade is ready but you havnt thrown it yet so you can decide when to throw it?

I think MC should be shown left-handed if the player is using the Lefty controls. It didn't matter too much in Halo 1 because there was only one gun at a time. Now, with dual wielding, It's more important. The left-handed control scheme switches the two triggers. That would mean a left-handed player would have to pull the left trigger to shoot the gun in MC's right hand and the right trigger to shoot left gun. Seems like that'd be a little confusing for left-handers (nothing we couldn't get use to). It wouldn't take any extra programming or processor power to show the MC as a lefty. If the left-handed control scheme was chosen, the game would simply mirror the chief, placing his right hand on the left side of the screen. It should be quite a simple thing to do, and I hope it is implemented in Halo 2. It would have no effect on other players (right-handers), yet would be very beneficial to left-handers, so if your right-handed this really has nothing to do with you. We don't need to hear rude comments, bashing left-handers etc. Although, I imagine it's a bit fun to bash us left-handers.

actually it may be genetic... I'm a left handed writer, right handed everything elser... I wanna know where ya grew up to learn to play games left handed... Halo is like the first game i noticed to have Left handed settings actually... (with the old nintendo controls, the rectangles, i guess ya just coulda held the control upside down!)

Anyway, they probably should fix it, with less time constraints they can test it better and so forth..... Which hand gets tucked in when you cross your arms.... thats genetic.. so why isnt writing...

well i study genes mostly in biology and there is a lot of genetics involved in what handed you are but its the whole nature nurture thing and some can overwrite others etc so its abit of both and with time one can overide the others. i could go on all day but this is halo not a science lecture and i have enough of that at university.
on another point, its a game, it doesn't really matter the only types that do are golf and tennis games as it determines where the ball is more likely to go so the option is there
