I've heard this rumor from at least 2 different people in real life. When they've been asked to show the goods however, they cop out.

Which is just as well, because if they really did have a stolen alpha disc I'd beat the -blam!- out of them; the last thing I want to see is what happened to Half-Life 2 happen to Halo 2.

They don't have it. Stop being a troll and get out of here with your lies.

Bungie specifically stated that no copies of Halo 2 or a demo will be released to the public before the actual game is out. The only exceptions were the demos at E3 this year, Fanfest 2004, and the Microsoft Alpha test which had to return their copies of the incompleted game. You are a liar. Now shut up.

and the Microsoft Alpha test which had to return their copies of the incompleted game.

They could have copied the game discs before returning them. I'm pretty sure, however, that you had to access a Bungie/XBL server in order to actually use the game, but, there are ways around that kind of stuff.

Yeah and Bungie has some serious security as well. Only trusted Microsoft employees were allowed to use the game discs. If they did copy the discs they would be in for some serious legal trouble.

I've heard this rumor a few times myself. in fact...the other day i was playing project gotham 2 and one of the ppl on my friends list said that his friends dad works for microsoft and he somehow got a bootleg copy for his son (the friend i mentioned) and the guy says ud be suprised how many people in japan have the online bootleg copy already...be in mind the guy im talking about said he only has the online version...not the story mode..but still...even if he's not lying....i have douts since the halo 2 project is being kept under lock and key in the terms of the online gameplay modes and characters...so i seriously dout the dudes dad could just waltz into microsoft one day, swipe a copy of the online version and someone not get suspicious as to where it dissapeared to.

More likely it's Bungie testing the cool live features they promised. And I have my doubts that XBL could support Halo 2 without Bungie knowing about it.

They handed out the alpha copy to 100 or so microsoft employess so they could test it out! so of course they know about it!

I agree Microsoft would catch it even if you could use it on XBL. I don't think anyone would have a copie of halo 2 even if its just a play test.

Have you read the game informer article? Even that says they are testing it, they have an interview with someone who HELPED TEST IT. So I don't see how you can back up that no one has played it online?
