I've been a die hard Halo fan from the start, but sadly, Bungie Weekly Update: 11/30/07 is the worst I've ever read. What a bunch of sorry excuses. I don't what to hear excuses. I want to see results. I want what should have come to me, which is a greater number of maps I already paid for. COD4 shipped with 16, and they work! Before you sell us a game that cost a s*** load, get it right - how many shots have you had? My faith is shifting. COD4 has caught my attention. I see Halo fading fast.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Then quit waisting your time typing and go play some COD4.

Now, if you want to have a rational conversation, then I'm all for it. I'll start:

There're some very significant differences between CoD4 maps and Halo 3 maps. For starters, Halo 3 has a much more robust physics engine. Jumping and throwing play a much more important role in Halo 3 than in Call of Duty 4, meaning that each map must be tested more so than those on CoD4.

Further more, Call of Duty 4 has players choose their weapons from the beginning, while all Halo 3 maps must have weapon placements from the beginning. This adds to the development process, and takes much more time.

News? Podcasts? Machinima? Active forums? Competitions? Jaffa Cakes!? OMG!
Thee Warriors!

Best. Mod. Ever.

Heh. So what's the name of the other company giving you so many regular updates with so much Cowbell?

And correct Prometheus. Physics and non-linear design > Shallow boom-fests.

Yes, Halo 3 needs at least 16 confusing, bland-looking, dysfunctional and redundant maps! You are right! Personally I am going to throw away my copy of Halo 3 because it doesn't have an angry, Scottish, grass-man who requires you to carry him.

I have both games. I love both games for different reasons. I enjoy both games independently. Why can't you?

Yeah dude, Halo is Halo, always has been always will be. CoD is CoD always has been always will be. They will continue being two different games forever because, this may be shocking...but, they are in fact two different games! (0_o)

And the Shadow fell upon the Land, and the World was riven stone from stone. The oceans fled, and the mountains were swallowed up, and the nations were scattered to the eight corners of the World. The moon was blood, and the sun was as ashes. The seas boiled, and the living envied the dead. All was shattered, and all but memory lost, and one memory above all others, of him who brought the Shadow and the Breaking of the World. And him they named Dragon.

God I hate whining.
Now, to whine about the whiners, that's a different story.

PS: Prometheus, I am better than you.

You say tomato; I say potato.

The maps in Halo 3 and COD4 are so different, the only reason for choosing is opinion.

You people have just sent my sides into orbit. A bunch of MLG try hards sucking the dick of some supposed pro half the thread hasn't even heard of. Classic.

Well you are entitled to your opinion. Have fun playing COD4. Many people will still be playing Halo 3 when you come back.

You paid for what the game was, and thats what you got. Bungie never promises 16 maps so why complain like it was?

Excuses? I'd say it was more like "Issues Adressed".

You're not happy when they don't tell you they're working on/fixing/testing people's complaints, and you're not happy when they do. Luckily, more people actually enjoyed that update's wealth of knowledge, than people who didn't.

P.S. CoD4 plays too much like CoD2. It gets pretty dull after awhile. /+5 to opinion/

Aside from the OP's ridiculous analgoy to CoD4, he's right. My first thought reading the WU was "damage control." All of the real issues (price) were just totally skimmed over in favour of further pimpage of the map content. For example, in justifying the price, there are 22 words. In further describing the content of Foundry (something 1/3 of a WU was dedicated to), there're 127 words. Frankie didnt even touch on the massive disparity between the international prices, or the massive price hike and content reduction from H2 to H3.

Also.

new Forge objects being loaded into their Forge palettes and this is something we’ll see more of going forward.

EA called. They want their marketing model back.

Dianna Agron is the epitome of perfection.

Quinntology.

Call of Duty's maps are somewhat similar as well, I only rented the game but I remember getting two maps confused over and over again because they basically have the same design and everything. I'm not saying all of CoD4's maps are like that but keep in mind these are two different developers who have had two different successes doing their games their own ways. Bungie decided to make less maps for the release, however, they put more time into other aspects of the game.

And yes, I did get kind of bored of CoD4 after a while as well. It doesn't have forge, custom games, and saved films now does it?
