As many of you know there is a new update coming. Included with this is the ability to change the Windows Live ID attatched to your Xbox Live account.

I am planning on doing this, but I would like to know how/if this will affect my bungie.net account.

Thank you.

I get more ass than a toilet seat.

If you look on gametrailers.com they have a vid explaining some of this. Also you could just check out xbox.com.

Here is how it works.

1st you have a live ID. Your live ID is associated with several things. It is attached to your gamertag and Bungie.net attaches your account to your live ID.

Your Bungie account and your gamertag are not related. They are only connected by your live ID. This is how your bungie account grabs your friends list, through your live ID. So basically you could go right now and create a new live ID. On the 4th you could then make your gamertag associated with the new live ID. Your old live id would still exist, it just wouldn't be attached to your gamertag anymore. However, your Bungie.net account would still be attached to your old live ID and currently bungie offers no way to change which live id your bungie account is attached to.

You could still sign into bungie with your old live ID, but you would lose all the functionality like viewing your friends list, downloading games, maps, and screenshots, etc... You would have to sign into bungie.net with the new live ID you made, then it would prompt you to create a new bungie.net account to attach to your new live ID. After doing that you would have all the functionality again, but you would lose all your old posts.

Hope this helps.
