While I will admit that a lot of the proof that people have asserted in this thread is very reassuring, I'm really only going to be confident once Bungie comes out and says, "Fear not, split screen over LAN and XBL will be included!"
Think about all the false information you've seen about Halo 2 that came from STRONG assumptions, like all the release dates that games stores have posted. I think it's safe to say those were educated guesses, which was the best they could do considering Bungie's caution about tossing around release dates. How many of you were at least a little disappointed when you found out that the stores had incorrectly guessed Halo 2's release date? I know I was. So, to avoid that kind of disappointment again, I decided that if it wasn't posted by a Bungie employee on Bungie.net, then I would treat any information I heard about Halo 2 as pure speculation.
Now, that said, I ask Bungie: Why will you not confirm this for us, your adoring fans? All we want is a little peace of mind. Its not like its going to blow the lid off your (hopefully amazing) Halo 2 storyline. I challenge you to step up and make the first GOOD Xbox Live game(Unreal and MechAssault don't count because they lick) that carries on the spirit of the LAN party by allowing me to play with a friend on the same TV. I LIKE having 2 players on one TV for Halo; I'm sure I'll like it for Halo 2.
Frankie, help us out here, man!
