Cronin's Law----The New Flood Drinking Game

Well? I've always hated the series, always will. Will somebody please tell me what the big fuss is about?

People just enjoy games where your the bad guy. Don't you ever remember playing a FFS and killing all your marines? or trying to play some other game where you go on a killing spree until the game makes you stop? GTA encourages that and people like it. Its not a game I play 24/7. But I will pick it up and play for a few hours now and then. (or play Halo2 on easy, its almost the same thing)

People also ask what the hell is so great about Halo. And everyother game out there. The truth is (brace yourself) that games all come down to whether you have an intrest in them or not. People like some games and not others. Lots of people like GTA. You don't. That dosent mean you have to go around asking what is so great about it. I don't like KOTOR. Lots of people do. I don't ask questions about it. They like it. Good. Let them play it. I'm happy their happy. Why can't you do the same with GTA?

Because it disturbes me. Its the way the action in the games is presented. I'm not some game-banninng -blam!- or anything, but the way that game presents violence... Its just... Ugh! I like mostly tactical shooters, and they can get pretty violent, but it's all about the way the violence is presented. If it is professional or warranted (In other words; Military), its fine by me. If it is random and pointless (GTA series), I feel it is just in poor taste. I'm not saying the people playing it should stop, I'm simply saying that game makes me quite literally physically sick (Much like BF1942 does), and was curious how anone could find amusement in it.

^^Oh yeah, Sci-fi and Fantasy is always okay because it has no bearing on reality.

I Play sci-fi and fantasy games to escape, And I play Tactical/realistic (Splinter Cell, Raven Shield, etc) games to feel like I'm there. I have no desire to escape to or feel like I am in GTA. A few have said they like it but that's not the question. The question is WHY?

what more could you want???

To be in the military
To have my M92fs
To have my G36k
To have my three squadies
To have green team waiting for my orders
And shoot terrorists.

Playing as the bad guy is fun. Playing as a criminal is not.

But there are so many games like that to choose from. GTA offers a new, fresh idea. Its like drinking juice for your whole life, then having a can of coca cola. it tastes so sweet.

As I already said, Bad guy=fun... Criminal=not. I don't take it too serious, I just... well Fine I guess I take it too serious. But my empathy gets me more chicks than you could ever dream of (Lol that'd be the day!)

I love the freedom GTA gives you to do whatever you want. I think this is pretty common among most fans of the series. I would definately consider myself a fanboy of Halo, but I can't wait to get my hands on an Xbox copy of GTA: San Andreas.

I remember playing GTA III and one of the things that sticks out most in my mind was just wandering around the city when the sky was dark gray and it was raining. They do such an execellent job of making the atmosphere seem alive even though the majority of the graphics in GTA are a little whimsical. I come from Seattle where its dark and rainy all the time so I could easily relate. I can't wait to see the smoggy orange skies of San Andreas while I'm driving around causing grief for a lot of the inhabitants of the game.

I'll play it when I'm with a friend who has it. All I do is go on a crazy killing spree - I find the missions boring, and even sprees tire after a while.

5/5 Stars - Kritz.net

I used to like GTA. Upto the third one.

VC just didn't go with me.

All you do is some lousy missions which are near the same.

Kill people / persons.
Collect an item.
Drive somewhere.

Sure, freeroaming is fun.

For the first 3 games that's mostly what I did. I don't think I even finished the GTA3 campain.

The first two were great. But turning a game like that 3D didn't seem to be the way to go for me.

It's just the same as SMB. I loved SMB3. I hated SMB64. I stopped liking mario.

It really all comes down to taste. Some people like GTA, some like Halo, some like... sonic...

You don't like what you play, you play what you like.

This week's spelling list:

SHUT

YER

TRAPS

I love Grand Theft Auto games. Rockstar is -blam!- awesome. Geez, I just got done playing GTA: Vice City for the last hour and a half. Any game where you have to be a criminal to win, is good. This goes for movies, too. The good guys always winning is annoying. I like it when you get to commit crimes, mow people down, and blow -blam!- up.

Besides, they're made really well. There's a an actual story, and a tone for which the stories are told.

I like GTA. FPS games can sometimes get tiring.

Well I also like SA. Its fun to me because you can have your gang members help you kill people. Like this one time my gang and I went in to a truck and then I went into Balla(enemy) Terriotory and we did lots of drive-bys.
Also another time I wa walking around and started getting shot by the cops(about 8 cops). My gang saw it happening and like 5 of my gang pulled out Ak-47s. Then they shot all the cops.
