Somewhere, someplace, someone is getting teabagged.

Here I was thinking that Microsoft was starting to get smart with making lots of money while still delivering a better experience than anyone else. I guess I was mistaken, as they just screwed themselves out of tons of money. How could they not realize the potential of adding achievements, much more online play? The sales of this game would increase at least 1000%, and no that's not a typo. I was planning, and excited for, this game. But now that I see this, my money's off the table. It's a shame really, I was really looking forward to this, too.

Sadly, I would even let Hired Gun port it with Live.

Give me one good reason to pay 15 USD for that game without xbox live or achievements.

Halo: Combat Evolved (for the Xbox console), $4.79 + free shipping.

Halo: Combat Evolved (for the Xbox console), $12.73 with shipping.

Umm, acheivements and online capabilities would increas the sales by 10000. I don't need to buy the exact same thing when I have the disk, no thank you.

Like some people have stated ^^

wait, when they say it will upscale to 1080p, do they mean it will fill the whole screen now?

yah, it does fit your whole screen, if you count the black bars on the side.

No, acnboy. Spartain Ken 15 is a lesser being. Much like the bacteria that lives in your shit.

My shit bacteria takes offense to that comparison.

Don't make me lel. You won't like me when I lel.

You all are terribly ungrateful.

You have Halo 2 for online, and Halo 3 for online and achievements, and look what people have been doing with the achievements in Halo 3, achievement matches?) You remember the South Park where George Lucas kept making changes to the Original movies? No changes need to be made to an amazing classic. None.

YES! OMG YES! Online play is fine, but I've been without the classic for almost a year now! (Lost it somehow.) It's been frigging painfull, they don't sell it at most stores... but YES!

One more step bungie; I hope we can see halo CE online before you produce another game; I don't think anyone will care about lagging like halo PC, or lack of achievements; I just want halo 1 with lots of people!

but THANK YOU!

Exactly! Why pay $15 for a download that offer nothing over the original when you can buy the game new on disc for $5 - 10 bucks? Other then convenience?

No xbl online play? Who cares.

Its about time that console gamers get screwed over with a crappy deal for a re-release of of a 6+ year old game. Every time something like this has happened before, it usually befalls on the PC gamers. with crappy ports done by 3rd party companies, or groups that don't even have a proper website. Now, console gamers can take it up the ass for once and see what its like.

want online play? go buy Halo PC. Bonus maps, bonus vehicles, bonus weapons. Not to mention Halo Custom Edition. Which lets you expand you gaming further with user created maps, weapons vehicles and more.

This was a nice attempt Microsoft. But no one's really going to fall for this gimmick. A quick cash grab is all this really is.

Hey its not such a bad idea... even if you do already have CE on a disk in a year or two (when you cant find the game at any store) this download will still be there. So if later you want to get the game you can. Plus if you want to have a lan party at a your house, which btw we(every halo player in the universe) do those for h3 even though we all have xbl you can make shure a copy of CE is available for every xbox.

Save your breath, people, they aren't going to do anything to H:CE. We're never going to get achievements, we're never going to get Live play. It's not cost effective. Yeah, maybe "you" would buy and play H:CE on XBL, but not many others would.

And I think Halo 2 and Halo 3 have taught us that Bungie isn't after great gameplay anymore as much as they are after selling the most copies. H2 and 3 were watered down in order to appeal to the lowest common denominator. They're not going to waste time just because playing Halo 1 on XBL would be awesome.

If you expect them to ever change ANY code of H1, you're retarded. I'm sorry, but you are.

Hell, all they did for this was rip the .iso image off the DVD anyway. What "work" was done to get this "ready" was likely done within one 8-hour shift.

What they shoud do instead is work on the code for the damn original Xbox emulator so that Halo and Halo 2's campaigns are actually playable on the 360. That's not going to make them money though.

Just play on the black-box people... it's the best we're ever gonna get.

  • 12.05.2007 12:14 AM PDT

Already got the game on disc so there is no real point in me downloading it via XBL, though I have downloaded the free theme and piccie!

mmm seems a waste not to revamp it somehow with achievements and especially no online and no new maps? I can't imagine many people don't already have Halo in their collection already.

So they still haven't fixed the frame rate issues i see and now charging £12 for a game most of us probably own. pfft waste of time.

If they fixed it so it worked properly (especially in 4 player where the frame rate drops are massively noticeable) and/or added xbox live to it then it would be a no brainer.

Somebody set us up the bomb.

1200msp for 10 maps AND a game
800msp for 3 maps (1 of which we already paid for)

Me thinks they are both a rip off.

I'd like to have a refund...

I downloaded it with great hopes yesterday, but once the game booted up I was extremely dissapointed. Add online play. Without it, Halo CE will have a short visit on my 20 gig harddrive (another frustration...since 2005 they haven't been able to upgrade it's harddrive??)

Ungrateful? HA! Most if not all of us already bought the game in 2001, what would be the point of buying it again as a DOWNLOAD? There is none, it's cheaper at stores. Online support was expected which is why it was so hyped the past few weeks, not many really cares about achievements. Also who cares about achievement matches? Seriously who cares? It didn't affect you in anyway and most games have that pointless crap too. Go into a 1 round match of Gears of War on Rooftops... yeah.

Stop being a little fanboy.
