It seems to me that Halo2's ending was deliberately crafted to make us all very anxious for Halo3. So by looking forward to it, I in no way enjoy Halo2 less, but it is actually an indicator that the ending served its purpose. Actually, anticipation of Halo2 made replaying Halo 1 enjoyable after I had played all the levels through on legendary more times than I could count. Looking forward to Halo3 is similar. It increases my enthusiasm for Halo2.

However likely that may seem to some of us, Bungie hasn't said anything about Halo 3 yet, so as of this moment, there is no Halo 3 nor will there be a Halo 3 until Bungie says so.

Anyway, to get back on track, I'm not usually one to get angry at people because they are looking forward to a possible Halo 3. In light of that fact, I do get on peoples' cases sometimes when they say "Halo 2 sucked, I can't wait for Halo 3... Bungie better not mess up!!!"

I want to say "most," but in fact, some members who start threads about Halo 3 often bad-mouth Halo 2 and Bungie all because the game wasn't expected. Usually, at least from what I've seen, the people who get angry about this are people who appreciate Halo 2 and feel that most others just play the game, say it sucks, and wish for Halo 3, which isn't always the case.

I share your belief that the ending of Halo 2 was made in order to build anticipation for a possible Halo 3. Some of the more hardcore and fanatical Bungie fans (not that there is anything wrong with that) will try to shoot down anybody who even mentions Halo 3 in a thread.

Basically, Bungie.net is plagued with chronic complainers right now. The majority of people who start threads about Halo 3 complain about Halo 2. If you show that you're not creating a thread to flame Halo 2 and that you actually wish to have a peaceful discussion about (enter topic of Halo 3 here,) then you're more likely to succeed at it.

People get upset when you talk about a iHalo3/i because Halo2 just came out and want to enjoy what they have. I am not saying a halo3 would be awesome but some dont want to hear about it.

and another reason that halo 3 would piss people off is because of the movie idea, and the people that think halo 2 is the best and there is no reason for a third.another reason might be that they thought halo2 would answer all their questions from halo 1, and when all i did was make more questions, they got angry, and also when they first beat the game, and was expecting an aweosome ending that would tell you alot, and i didnt, that couldve pissed them off, they dont want to wait for another halo

I would think that bungie doesn't want people to feel that Halo was good, Halo 2 was great, but I can't wait 'till Halo 3 comes out. I mean, that was the way we felt about Halo 2 when it wasn't out yet. Also, the crappy ending was (acording to the DVD that came with special collecters edition) was because they were rushed. Many people refuse to believe this, but what reason would they have to lie? They said it Halo 2 was gonna come out April, then they said September (maybe it was october) and it came out November. They postponed it for around a year which I choose to believe was time spent on making the game.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC
