S.H.I.T happens, your face for example

first of all before everyone rips out my throat, i do love halo 3 its my favourite game, and i take good care of it, yet it always gets scratched and damaged, my first copy wouldnt load any content and i bought i new one, and now that has become scratched and wont load any of the campaign, and this is now starting to get annoying, whats wrong with bungie? cant they put it on a regula disk and not a cheap substatute?

whoa....don't go blaming bungie..they don't hand pick the disks like a butcher does for cattle.

1.Try a lens cleaner, to make sure your lens isn't scratching the disks. The cleaner will remove any debris.
2. ALWAYS put the game BACK into the case as soon are you are done with it.
3. If you think it might get damaged, buy insurance. EB games will give you new disk if you get any scratches, all it cost is $3 for 1 year.
4. Try a disk doctor on you old games. 90% of the time it will make them playable again.

By "taking good care of it", where do you put your disk when you are not playing it?
Do you leave it in the 360, put it back in the case, or elsewhere?

Heh, do you take as good care of your disks as you do your grammar and spelling?

But those who've spoke before me are indeed correct.

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Also, if your disc is damaged when you open the case for the first time (i.e., you bought it like that), you should immediately return it to the place you bought it for to get it exchanged.

However, if you are finding that the disc gets damaged when you play it, you should handle your disc better. Remember, DVDs are not indestructable, they should be handed with care (i.e., don't touch the bottom of them, hold via the hole in the center, etc.) If your disc is getting damaged and you haven't taken it out of the Xbox 360, and this has happened to other games, then perhaps you should get your 360 checked out.

Finally - if the Xbox 360 just says you have a "dirty disk" a lot, or it can't load certain maps, and the disc appears not to be damaged, that's your Xbox 360 needing repair, not the disc.

That's funny.

As if Bungie has a bunch of disk-stampers in their garage and bought the cheapest blanks at Costco.

Manufacturing is handled by the publisher/distributor. In the case of Halo 3, that would be Microsoft Game Studios. They arrange where the disks are made and handle the distribution, wholesaling and related issues. I would imagine they used the same manufacturing contractors as they do for all of their other titles.

You are blaming the people who wrote the software for physical scratches on the disk when you use it in your console. That is like blaming Michael Bolton because your mix tape gets sand in it whenever you take it to the beach.

But more importantly....which Michael Bolton song is your favorite? I'm more a fan of the *entire* catalog!!

I think you're just avoiding answering the question.

I'm pretty sure he's asking you to come to his house and lick the smudges off his disc.

aw,crap.
If what you tell is true, someone will have to stand in an "complain/exchange" line for X minutes in a certain store in a soon-to-be future. . . . .

Gather around children and let uncle weggie tell you a story as old as time. Way back in the 70's, now that's before computers, Myspace and even video games................ we had what were called 8-track cassettes. Yes they sounded like ass and you couldn't rewind them, but we liked them better than playing our songs on big round flat plastic discs called records.

Now next week kids, grandpa Recon is going to tell you all about prohibition and how he used to sneak into the talkies.

The majority of people here often seem to get mad about their disk getting scratched when this situation shouldn't even be brought up at bungie.net for help with a scratched disk. they don't make the DVD9's. they just make the game. If i were the topic starter I would use on of Microsoft's disk replacement program for further help or guidance. If not then just ring up 1800-4my-xbox.

When did talkies come out???????
I been paying a nickel to watch the same damn guy dance around for two years now.
I been asking duke to get a new machine, like the ones you hear about on the radio about a fancy young lady dancing but he says he needs to buy
new copper pipe for the still.
I figure if we drink enough the dancing guy might turn into a pretty lady right quick....moonshine will do that to ya.
