This is mainly a thing I wanted to talk about for quite some time now and I hope you guys enjoy responding and discussing about it as well.

The subject is basically the future of the Bungie.net community and its people and were is it going or /heading. My guess is that it will tone down on the majority of hyperactive users (that mainly cause allot of trouble or flame allot) and we will end up having a very happy bungie community that will 7rully 7ake over 7he world while getting along. But then again I could be dreaming. I also wanted to see what this community would or will have in the future in terms of support and feature. But then again one of the problems with new user options + features is that some people might abuse it forcing the Bungie Web Team to take it away.

I wish to hear your guys opinion as well as the mighty Achronos's opinion about the future of B.net and its community ans were it might be heading in terms of everything I just mentioned. I hope you guys enjoy and Thank you all including The bungie.net web team for your Magnificent talent in creating a great Fun and enjoyable Website.

Thanks Again

So far I don't think anything bad will happen to the community, but we never know what the future will bring so anything could happen.

As long as things don't meet people's expectations in Halo 3 then they will continue to think something is wrong with the game.

Some people don't see that Halo 3 is not Halo: CE or Halo 2.

News? Podcasts? Machinima? Active forums? Competitions? Jaffa Cakes!? OMG!
Thee Warriors!

Best. Mod. Ever.

I think the worst thing happening to the community is people making neglecting threads, and taking on a tone that bears some similarities to a morbid depression era of sorts, instead of just being a part of what's going on, remedying any slowness we might have. It frustrates me to see people fretting about nothing, when really they're the source of the problem.
Will the community fall apart? No? A thousand committed people don't disappear overnight. They haven't for the last sixteen years. Will we get crap on the forums? Yes. New users (most of whom are incredibly stubborn) + More that one forum = Posting in the wrong places, arguments over a pixel of inaccuracy with a gun.
It's all a rush right now, but it will calm down. Really, the damage that is being done is only superficial, so I doubt Bungie will do anything, since short of shutting down whole site there’s nothing to be achieved.
And no, I'm not attacking this thread. This seems pretty constructive to me, but some of the other stuff recently has been warring me down.

The wonderful thing about being a fan of a software company, and not just a single game or movie, ect, is that there is always something new and exciting going on. There will always be the next game, be that Halo or something new. That means that there will always be something exciting to draw people here, and keep us together.

Innovation is the mother of all community, as it were. ^_~

those are some very strong views and i agree with you on allot of parts. I am becoming as well really sick of the complaining in the halo3 forum about something or anything. All I have to recommend to them, is to not even come in here and complain in the first place. If their is a problem with the game like a bug then thats ok to talk about. But like allot of people have said in the past. "If it ain't broke. Don't even fix it" And so far. Halo3 is definatly not broke. I mean addons and features is a whole other side of this story. I believe that this is all up to Bungie. After all, they made the game. They can do what ever they want with it. Not my option

The only bad thing that will happen is more -blam!-s who 'hold power' in the community.

That was very touching and all, but I'm still not accepting your game invites, Epidemic.

.. Seriously though, we should all hold hands and be one big happy family. It's the best way to go.

I hope that the smiley means that you're just joking about being the "original one" to post a thread about BNet's and/or the Community's future.

B.nets future. I saw some discussion of what will happen when bungie create a new sries of games not related to halo. That was the point of becoming an LLC wasn't it ? So they can make a Pimps at Sea RPG for real. : )
Some people were concerned the migration of people from halo forums to new forums would devestate the community.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

The future, you ask? The future is you. What do you plan on doing to the Community? What do you plan on doing for the Community? It's in your hands now, it's your move.

The enemy of my enemy shall die next.

I know the voices in my head are not real, but they have some great ideas.

Brown chicken Brown cow!

Everytime a new Bungie game is released you will get a certain amount of idiots onthe forums complaining about everything and saying how better they could have made it. But as long as the people who apreciate the games stay as part of the community thenit should have a rosey future :-)

But when I think about it again. I'm actually Glad theirs a Halo3 forum. I am starting to think of it as a containment cell for all of the whiners, complainer, and spammers. If in theory, the halo3 forum was deleted. The flood would be attacked as well as the underground. Kind of like a huge massive forum jailbreak with all of its worst criminals. However. From time to time you might find someone that has stumbled outside the halo3 forum and somehow ventured into the flood. Which is normal, but i hope you see my point.

(random yet funny signature goes here)

As someone who hasn't been in the community for very long, but still longer than most(since 05) I can honestly say that I expect that when the novelty of the new and shiny halo 3 starts to fade out things will slow wayyyyy down like they used to. Halo 3 will eventually go back to so and so game is better than so and so game and just repeat threads of theories about the story line and the golden mongoose. A search for the truth thread will be stickied and weapon threads will be made on fixs and changes that need to be made. The underground will return to its entire front page being locked or moved threads and the community thread will slow down to one thread a day like it used to be, however everything in this thread will be well mannered and intelligent. The Flood will be the flood, unaffected as usual, off doing its own thing.

Basically, for the future, I just see a slowdown of everything, and more repeats untill April 1st when Bungie will HOPEFULLY release a screen shot of their true master piece PaS.

I see this in Bnet's future:

* Some people will think they are better than some people.
* Some people will think they know more than some people.
* Some people will complain about some people.
* Some people just wont give a -blam!-
* Everyone will talk about some people.

We're talking about the future. You're talking about the past, silly. Fix your typo.
