i use green thumb (everything is the same except melee is right thumbstick pressing down and zoom is b) its good for melee combat cause u can melee without letting go of the right thumbstick so u can melee faster and u might miss pressing b cause u let go of the look thumbstick and he runs to the side(happened to me b4)

I use boxer, but I may try and learn default again to make halo 2's duel wielding easier

I use default, I started out with it, and don't really feel like changing the style of controls I will use for halo 2.

The first day I had Halo, way back in November of 2001, I realized that the melee attack was going to be very useful, and probably a big part of my game. As it turns out, I was correct. The ability to throw a slap in close range combat, while circle-strafing, is a big lifesaver for me. So I switched to boxer controls the very first day I had Halo, and I find it to be the best.

The only downside to this is the fact that firing the secondary weapons on the tank is impossible to do while driving the tank, but the tank is useless anyway, so who cares, right?

I do foresee this being a problem in Halo 2 with the dual wielding, but I hope Bungie will think of us and lock the second weapons' fire to the left trigger.

for the longest time I played normal button layout with inverted. My long time friend/halo rival began using green thumb and I started to notice he was getting alot more double melee's to connect more often then me. Also a few times he melee'd me in the back of the head because I would have to take my thumb off the stick to melee, and while I would do that he would do a quick circle strafe around me and kill me instantly. So now I'm green thumb and I -blam!- him up more often.
