Why not something like this? You have a great idea Pezz, but in your image it seems too impractical....well...maybe not impractical, but it just seems like a waste of space. Sure, a lot could be put into it, but then again, do we really need more blogs on the site? I realize your intention is not to post blogs, but i can see that happening in the future.

*Note - Since people kept saying how it took up too much room and you couldn't see the background, I made it a little smaller.

That's not a terrible idea, right there. I even like the simple layout. :D

Shut up Perrah! No one wants to know that you -blam!- your cat at night and that you call it Squealy, lol.

P.S. Look at my Josher bio, you will love it.

I'll be on my own side.

Your bio fails, Josher. I did NOT steal anything.

Anyways, I don't see why people complain about this being like Myspace. If you were so concerned about this place being full of blogs, why aren't you complaining about signatures? Besides, it's not like these be spammed all over the main forums.

I probably wouldn't use it much, since my bio only says "Egg Noggers", but why not?

Wow, finally Pezza did something I agree with.

Kidding...

I be loving this idea, I like the idea of having it under the avatar on the profile page.

The only Twitter I follow. Except yours ;)
The Frozen Minority; Bungie's real underground. The oldest members, the deepest controversy, walking infamy.

1) The layout I provided was done in 5 minutes and the location/size mean NOTHING. That isn't even the point. The point is if we want the bio feature from XBL visible on our profiles.

2) The blog argument serves as an alternate use, it isn't a true blog. It's just your bio from XBL which you could use to put bloggish information in if you would like. I certainly would have stuff in there pertaining to my current situation like "My net is't working at the moment so I might not be online for a while." or something.

3) It is not like myspace - it is a bio, not a friend-comment structure. It's already on XBL and I find it insanely useful to read my friends (and FoF's) bios to get to know them. If you don't use the bio feature there, don't use it here. Simple.

4) It would be EXACTLY the same as the XBL one, as in character length, no images, not even links. It's just the data from your XBL bio made visible on your profile page.

Hope that clarified a few points. So stop saying "myspace" because they are totally unrelated. It isn't an about me, full of gif's and "i luv mi bf!", it's a small section which lets you say who you are.

Alright so after seeing the bio feature on XBL, I was thinking, perhaps we could have this integrated into our profile pages. We have friendslists, gamertags, fileshares and downloads avaliable on the site, so maybe the bio would be equally easy to integrate.

This would do well for drawing the members of the community together and, seeing as it is under XBL's system, offensive messages and so forth would not go unpunished.

Link I made to give an example....

I would love this feature - people like myself could also use it as a makeshift blog/message page where more personal addresses to the community could be made

Dude I love your idea. But like I have said in my last posts. The problem with giving users here more features. Is the fact that they might find a way to abuse it to hell and back. Sort of like you mentioned "offensive messages and so forth would not go unpunished" I'm not really sure if their is a way to do it with your idea. But their always has to me a genius at doing stupid things. Hopefully your proposal "if taken in action". Won't gain negative or abusive popularity in effect. If it does However. Then probably the best thing to do is throw on the -blam!- filter.
But ya man I think thats a great idea!

You missed the point like Vader missed the banshee, your whole argument is covered in bees.
Stop sending me group invites -blam!-s!

I don't think it's a bad idea but I wouldn't use it. Anyway it would promote elitism. J/K

BTW Achilles you're a big jerk face! :P

EDIT: I think the bios should be editable and viewable from xbox.com, I think that was a big oversight by MS.

I'll be on my own side.

Yeah, anyone who wants to put together any sort of bio more than a couple sentences long is going to have trouble with that. I guess they were too focused on pointlessly redoing the Marketplace layout to notice that little issue.

Nice idea and I support it but I would rather the web-team focused n groups now rather than a novelty or your profile. I would like to see this though.
