You’re right. War isn’t about “kicking but” or “moping up.” It’s about making a sacrifice for your country and fellow countrymen. It’s about fighting to keep others free. It about catching a bullet so the civilians back home wont have to.

Thanks to you, this whole thing as dissolved into a big political argument. I don’t see why you have to be so goddamned sensitive about it. So you saw something on the internet that you somehow think disagreed with your political beliefs? So the -blam!- what. I think we’d all appreciate it if you’d just leave the thread and never come back.

I mean hell, the least you could do is acknowledge that these fine men and woman are doing a hard-assed -blam!--for-shingle job that a little armchair philosopher like your self would never have the balls to do.

@Utramark

I totally agree with you that this war is a political thing, and I believe that you don't mean anything bad about the soldiers over there. And yes it is a serious thing, but I still don't agree with you bout Frankie making a Political Statement. The only thing he is doing is saying that they are brave to go over there, fight an (unpopular) war, and how much they enjoy HALO. He never once says anything bad about the people in the Middle East, nor gives his opion of the area. He just asks Sgt. Kelly Hafer, what a typical work day is and what halo multiplayer maps are most popular. If he was making a Political Statement, he would have said something like, "Bush / Cheney 2004" or like what a few others in forum have said.

Oh, and for the guy who posted the ebaumsworld.com link, you posted a link to an anti-war movie. Full Metal Jacket, was a harsh look into reality of Vitenam. That movie in no way supports your further statements, nor does it give you very much credibilty.

And by the way, to the guy in Kuwait about how no one cares about where you are at, the article was written about a soldier in Kuwait. And I care about every soldier over there, whether they be Americans, British, Canadians, Dutch, Russian, etc. I just wish that I didn't have seizures, so that I could be there with you all.

Nice to see your armed forces enjoy watching animals kill each other.

Micro$oft could have something like that 'Game with fame' thing where we can play with real soldiers. Apparently the navy has Xboxes on their ships and subs, and Halo's their favourite games too.

Our country (goverment) treats all us resreave soldiers like their foot rests. while we sit on our butts in the burning heat, our leaders go home to their wives. This war is a Waste! you may not beleave it till you see it. I have seen it. trucks as far as the eye can see, dead americans, dead Iraqis. This war was not worth one life!

now with that out of the way, every unit wants to be on TV. nuff said.
I hate being in kuwait, because we don't do anything!
people who get a chance to go to Iraq at least feel like they did something.

and dispite what some of you think we can bring Xboxes, PS2s, laptops, DVD players, ect overseas.

I am the best halo player in all of kuwait by the way!

Whoa, do you mean trucks full of dead bodies? How many people was Saddam killing? Surely not truck fulls, all the way to the horizon. Maybe they'll get a slightly more democratic government but it seems a lot more dangerous now.

@hangbrain

Thank you for your blams! I'll put them with the Full Metal Jacket site you've sent me earlier. You're from Texas, right?

@Rasterburn

He never once says anything bad about the people in the Middle East, nor gives his opion of the area.

Well that's just it, the article's first line ends with "in a dust-filled hellhole while terrorists, insurgents and bad guys galore try to kill them". It could've ended with "while they are trying to help the people of Iraq" or something more positive. The job is hard enough as it is. Oh well, I like the picture they added though. Takes the edge off of things.

Let's just leave it at that, Frankie's not gonna respond anyway.

@ Death Raven
No one ever said that war wasn’t a waste. It’s been that way since the age of Gilgamesh, and it aint gonna change anytime soon.

@UltraMark:
Thank you for your blams!
Your vary welcome.

You're from Texas, right?
What the hell does that have anything to do with it? But anyway, yes I am.

What do you want? Them to say "Oh, everything’s happy and fine over here!"? If he had said that, you’d be complaining about how "untruthful" that was, and giving a long speech about how we're all getting slaughtered over there and we're going to loose the war. Also, your reply was written to a statement that: "He never once says anything bad about the people in the Middle East, nor gives his opion of the area." That statement was referring to racial slurring, not the fact that certain people don't like us and want to kill us. And in that situation, there is nothing left to do but kill them back. Not sit all nice and comfy up in Europe somewhere, giving out long speeches about things you obviously know nothing about. As soon as terrorists invade your sovereign soil, kill your innocent civilians, and declare that they wont stop until all of you are dead, get back to me.

I have been hear for one year and 6 months. no i did not mean truckloads of bodies, but that would have been alot cleaner than what I've seen...but now I am in Kuwait, doing almost nothing. playing alot of Halo, and will probably not be home till Oct. Just in time for Halo 2.

*sniff* I wish I could have been interveiwed by Bungie, that would be sweet.

Well, it has nothing to do with this at all, just like all the things you said about me have nothing to do with this at all. The only difference is:

I was right.

$#!+... this was a really cool post at the start, now its just turning into a political suck-fest. i'm glad our boys (and girls) are over there sacraficing for us, some of us are not. some of our servicemen and women are glad to be over there serving, some are not. this thread was about some military guys who are always in harms way, and play halo to relax!
i have hordes of opinions about the war, and about how the news portrays it, and about the reasons we went in and the reasons why i'm still glad we're there. who here doesn't have an opinion about the war in iraq? who hear really forgot h2's release date the other way around?! who here likes truckloads of dead bodies, or saddam's henchmen cutting tounges out? crap... now i'm getting sucked-in.... the thread's about something else.
in a tent in Kuwait or a tent in your back yard get a hub, some cables, xbox's and tv's, and relax and have fun playin' halo.
as for you military folks serving in iraq, kuwait, afganistan, or on the base up the road- thank you and God bless you!
