All I said was if you don't like how things are on Bungie, why not find somewhere else more to your liking? There are plenty of other forums and websites out there that you may find more enjoyable, such as halo3.junk.ws, instead of being somewhere that you don't like. If you have the ability to go somewhere else and be happy why not do it instead of complaining about things you don't like at a website you don't like? It is not like real life where you need time, money, and a way to get where you are going. All you need to do is use your mouse and keyboard.
Except it is basically the same argument as 'if you have a problem with the game, go play something else'.
The fact is on the rare occasion, there IS good conversation to be had here, its got the game data plugged in, and its paid for by the absurd amount of money me and so many others have paid to play. I am tired of the put up or shut up attitude everyone seems to take though.I don't see what's wrong with this argument. Welcome to capitalism, my friend, where you vote with your wallet and your patronage.
The reason that so many people are taking a "that's just the way it is" attitude is because.... well... that's just the way it is. What else are we supposed to tell you? That your opinion of how this place should be run is wrong? Obviously your opinion can never be wrong -- merely irrelevant. Which is exactly the situation you now find yourself in. I'm sure that a person like you finds this kind of impotence to be frustrating. But Bungie runs this place, has hordes of rabid fans who continue to come here every day, and has chosen to deal with them in a certain way. Complaints here, if voiced by enough people, can certainly lead to change.
But when people simply say "I disagree" or "who cares," they are not telling you to shut up. They are doing no more than expressing their opinions of the situation, just like you. Their disagreement or apathy, which seems to offend you deep down in your heart, is not directed towards you; it is directed at whatever complaint you have made. If you find a majority of people are apathetic to whatever your current complaint is, then it's reasonable to assume that it is not a priority in the eyes of most fans. Keeping the preceding in mind, you need to realize that, if it's a change in Bungie's ways that you seek -- whatever that change may be -- and most of the fans are just fine (or, God forbid, even happy) with the way things are being run right now, then it's a safe bet to say that things probably won't change.
On a side note, and as many others have already noted here, insulting the intelligence of your fellow forumgoers, accusing them of having a "put up or shut up" attitude, and generally responding in a caustic way is not helping you gain supporters. I know that this is the way things are done in the Halo 3 Forum, but it doesn't really work there either.
Back to the topic. You said at one point in this thread that all you're really asking for is a fundamental change in the way the Weekly Updates are run -- namely, you want all of the issues that are important to you to be "addressed" and/or "investigated" by Bungie, with regular updates as to progress and status. And you are unhappy with the playful, sometimes flippant attitude that Bungie tends to take towards its customers.
I know you're not going to be happy to hear this, but that's the way it is because that is Bungie's culture. You and your posts here are not going to change them, especially since loyal Bungie fans have loved Bungie for its intimacy and familiarity -- and yes, its irreverance -- towards its Community for many years, since long before either you or I arrived. This is not a Nordstrom, where salespeople are brainwashed with the "customer is always right" mantra and taught to genuflect before any haughty customer who believes that they are entitled to royal treatment because they forked over a few bucks. This is Bungie, and this is how they do things.
Moreover, complaining about the moderators' behavior is not the way to go. You are assailing the efforts of a group of regular Bungie fans who take hours out of their day to make this place halfway decent so that your threads are actually readable and so that you are able to read others'. Moreover, to clue you in, you are most likely wrong in your imperious assessment of whether a thread was closed for a reason. If you have a specific question about a specific thread, why don't you give us a link to it so that a moderator or helpful member can explain the forum rules to you? Most of us are pretty honest here, too, so you can expect a truthful assessment.
Now that it's obvious that your complaints in this thread, in general, have not been well-received or agreed with, you have a few options. First, you can vote with your wallet (i.e., stop paying for Bungie products). Second, you can attempt to purchase stock in Bungie and then force it to change its corporate culture. This particular option is unlikely to happen. Third, you can accept the good with the bad, admit that although there are some things you don't like and will just have to deal with, you generally like Bungie and its games. This strategy can be applied to life in general. E.g., I do not like waking up and going to work in the morning, but I generally enjoy being alive. Once you realize this, both on the microcosmic (Bungie) and macrocosmic (life) scale, on the whole, you can live a much happier life :-)
I suggest you take the third option. I hope this helps clarify the situation and calm your rage somewhat. Good luck to you, sir.
