How come at the home paeg of bungie.net it says that Frankie's weekly update is the most popular thread? It only has 347 post while my thread, this one, has over 500 post.

wow! talk about service. I complained and then i look and its fixed. the home page now states that this is the most popular thread. thanks to who ever fixed that at Bungie.net. Now, if I could find a customer survey, i might just be able to get someone a raise.

yeah i bet you are tired, 500, posts, WOW what a great thread, i have read every damn posts on here and let me say i have been thinking, but i would like to bring up some things that Spatan King said, he mentioned that in the first strike cortana and master chief had taken over a covenant ship, Asendant justice, while on the ship Cortana found out how to use the covie plasma weapons and make them better, and when she utilized them, they turned a red color like the wierd forerunner tech on halo.

Another point that when the covenant destroy a race they use what tech they can then get rid of the rest they dont need. This brings me to why the logo's and stuff on the elites armor and on there ship, are alomost one in the same to the ancient forunner technology, logo's, now this mean either that the covenant destroyed the foreunners, or that they simple worship them,

Also that Doc, Hasley had taken tech, from the elites armor and used to make MC armor,

In the end it makes me mad because i dont now, and i suckes badly.

Didn't Docter Halsey take technology from the Jackals shields that John(MC) recovers from a battle-it was in the Fall of Reach.

well.. lots of people are saying that humans created halo and might have created the flood... they think the humans in the future or past are the forerunners.... well i have read that the forerunners created the flood to do tests on them and control populations of other races..... i have no clue how people can make a connection to say that humans are the forerunners.....

(PS.. I REALLY DONT WANT THE FORERUNNERS TO BE HUMAN... I WANT TO FIGHT.. OR ATLEAST SEE SOME BIGASS GUYS AS THE FORERUNNERS... THAT WOULD BE WAY FUNNER!!!!!)

I am amending my theory now....

The Forerunners create the humans to combat the flood, and leave them alone on earth. In Halo 2, The Forerunners transport MC back in time to activate the Halo System and destroy the Flood. This explains how GS knows MC as the "Reclaimer".......... but not why the Covenant hate us unless the Prophets think that we hate them too.

The last part really doesnt make sense, does it?

Elites armor is the same armor made by the forerunner. The Prophets are classified as the covenants religious leaders, maybe sometime in life the Prophets lived with the Forerunners, but the Forerunners left and the Prophets still have access to that technology. On the topic of acting like 343 GS knows you, the MC's armor has sheilds that was copied from the Covenant, and improved upon. Halo was supposdly built by Forerunner and GS was left to maintain Halo 04, and contain the flood. My theory is back in time the Forerunners used Halo and caused a mass extinction of some sort. Maybe, since the MC's armor is similar to Forerunner technology(Sheilds) GS mistakes the MC for some kind of Forerunner that has come to destroy the flood. The MC also seems to recongize many Covenant/Forerunner symbols, like slipspace and the Covenant Panels. Maybe this is caused by some sort of Deja Vu becuase Humans might be directly related to Forerunners. Also, the reason the Covenant hate us so much is becuase the Prophets KNOW were can become a powerful race, becuase of our descendency of the Forerunners. Maybe a Spartan is what a Forerunner was, and the power of John is what they fear. If anyone has read "First Strike" when the MC destorys 500 ships, that is a tiny dent in the Covenant armada, proof that the Covenant have been studying us, and that they have been planning this war.

That is my Theory.

I've seen a lot of wrong quotation from the game so I have copied the transcripts from the HBO site and put them here. It is only just relevent lines by 343 guilty spark. It seems like most infor comes from him regarding the forerunners. He appears and talks on the levels Iof the Library and The Maw. Please read.

----- the library

343 GUILTY SPARK: Puzzling. You brought such ineffective weapons to combat the Flood, despite the containment protocols.

(Moving down another hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK: The Flood must not escape the installation. They would consume all.

(Another hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK: You can see how the body's been transformed by the genetic restructuring of the Flood infection. The small creatures carry spores that cause a host to mutate. The mutated host then produces spores that can pass the Flood to others. It is insidious and elegant. As long as any hosts remain, the Flood is virulent.

----

(Further down the same hallway, just before you're jumped for the first time from all sides)

343 GUILTY SPARK: This installation's research facilities are most impressive! Perhaps we'll have time to see them later.

(As 343 GS sends a squad of Sentinels to assist you)

343 GUILTY SPARK: These Sentinels will supplement your combat system. But, I suggest you upgrade to at least a Class Twelve combat skin. Your current model only scans as a Class Two, which is ill suited for this kind of work.

(As you near the first platform lift)

----

Part 02: Wait, It Gets Worse!

----

343 GUILTY SPARK: Your environment suit should serve you well when the Flood begins to alter the atmosphere. You are a good planner.

----

(Hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK: The installation was well conceived. It is surely the only way to end the Flood threat.

(As you ride the second platform lift)

Part 03: But I Don't Want To Ride The Elevator!

343 GUILTY SPARK: I would conjecture that the other species currently on the installation is responsible for releasing the Flood. They seem most persistant in their attempts to access restricted areas.

(In a large, open, cavernous hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK: Why naturally the Flood is simply too dangerous to release, and mass sterilization protocols may again need to be enacted. Of course, samples were kept here after the last catastrophic outbreak...for study. It seems... that decision may have been an error.

(Another hallway)

343 GUILTY SPARK: The installation was specifically built to study and contain the Flood. Their survival as a race was dependent upon it. I am grateful to see that some of them survived to reproduce.

----

Part 04: Fourth Floor: Tools, Guns, Keys To Super Weapons

(What is this? A hallway?!?!)

343 GUILTY SPARK: The Flood are already hard at work repairing your vessel. Its parasitic nature belies the Flood's intelligence.
-----

343 GUILTY SPARK: Protocol requires that I take possession of the Index for transport. Your oganic form renders you vulnerable to infection. The Index must not fall into the hands of the Flood, before we reach the Control Room and activate the installation.

(343 GS and the Master Chief teleport away from the platform)

THE MAW

----

CORTANA: I need you to upload me into the control systems. The terminal is located next to the main viewscreen.

(Cinematic-The Chief takes Cortana's chip from his helmet and inserts it into the cylindrical terminal near the front of the bridge. Cortana appears above it.)

CORTANA:

I leave home for a few days, and look what happens. This won't take long. (She concentrates for a moment, and the main screen flickers to life. "Self Destruct Sequence Initiated" is displayed across the top, and numbers begin counting down from what is, as far as I can tell, a random starting point between twelve and sixteen minutes.) There. That should give us enough time to make it to a lifeboat and put some distance between ourselves and Halo before the detonation.

(The Master Chief moves to unplug Cortana from the terminal, but stops abruptly with an all-too-familiar voice)

343 GUILTY SPARK: I'm afraid that's out of the question, really.

CORTANA: Oh, hell.

(The camera cuts to show 343 Guilty Spark extending arcs of energy across a series of consoles in a large room which, we learn later, is Engineering)

343 GUILTY SPARK: Ridiculous! That you would imbue a warship's AI with such a wealth of knowledge! Weren't you worried it might be captured? Or destroyed?

(Cut to Cortana)

CORTANA: He's in my data arrays, a local tap!

(Cut to 343 GS)

343 GUILTY SPARK: You can't imagine how exciting this is! To have a record of all of our lost time! Human history, is it? Fascinating.

(343 GS flutters around Engineering, as Sentinels join him, and scans another console)

343 GUILTY SPARK: Oh how I will enjoy every moment of its categorization! And to think that you would destroy this installation. As well as this record. I am shocked. Almost too shocked for words.

(Cut to the bridge. A tone sounds over the ship's speakers)

CORTANA (with a note of awe in her voice): He stopped the self-destruct sequence. . . .

(The Chief surveys the bridge carefully with his AR, never missing a beat)

343 GUILTY SPARK: Why do you continue to fight us, Reclaimer? You cannot win! Give us the construct, and I will endeavour to make your death relatively painless and -

(Another tone sounds)

that whole humans being the forerunners and sending the rings back in time is the dumbest thing I have ever heard (no offense)

Humans are not related to the Forerunner. Humans are an evolved form of the Flood that adapted to life "after the blast."

Flood Infection Form + Monkey or some similar mammal + A Billion Years of Evolution = Humans

Nice topic Tartarus... very nice. Been a way for a while and I miss out and this huge theory thread imagine that. Anyway I might as wekk state my opinion on all of this (there is some refrence to the Halo books... sorry for those of you who haven't read)
Ok the back bone of my theory relies on the fact the Forerunner were trying to create the perfect race. Hear me out, sine we know that there are at least four Halo installations that means that Forerunner have tried at least 4 times to create the perfect species to carry on for the Forerunner. Their fouth attempt was obviously a failure (The Flood) and addapted to fast and broke loose. But since the first halo that they have created there has been fail safes incase any of the species rebelled and got free (more on that later) in this case it would wipe out the Flood's food. Now keeping in mind that 343 GS stated that specimens of the Flood were kept on Halo 04 for study since the last catostrphic outbreak. This means that the Flood have gotten out before and so the Forerunners had triggered Halo whipping out all living organisms that were "edible" how ever many million years ago (perhaps the cause of the extinciton of the dinosaurs on Earth).
But as the Forerunner learned from a trial and error process they became increasingly close to creating a perfect race, which could be used for carrying on the Forerunners ways, thoughts and technology (worried that they would be facing extinction themselves). So I'm guessing probably around Halo Installation 08 they had succeeded in making a species known as the Prophets. The Forerunners told the Prophets every ounce of history, beliefs, ways and technologies that they were a customed to. Then the Forerunners had created the Elite race that were meant for war and protection of the more intelligent Prophets. The Forerunners gave them armor branded with their ancient symols and tought them the ways of fighting. The Elites were soon given weapons and the Prophets grew smarter everyday. Soon the new races started to learn more quickly and uncontrollably and like their predecessors The Flood they rebelled against their former creators. The Prophets promised the Elites freedom and their own civilisation, they soon drove the Forerunners off the Halo installation and stole their technology and ships. The Elites and Prophets soon brang the fight to the Forerunner over a perioed of anywhere from 10 to 10,000 years until soon, only 900,000 years ago infact (more on that later), they cornered the remaing Forerunner on a distant battle ground and ahnillated them. The new forged alliance between the Prophet and Elites began to sugre forward taking over worlds and integrating them into their own species and forged the now known Covenant.... but the first of the Elites and Prophets began to die out until there were none left exept for only a few ancient Prophets but before they died however they passed down the ways of the Forerunners down to the next generation. The decendants of these oringal however were led by the few remaing greedy Prophets that had lost their cause. They began to push across the galaxy killing anything and everything they came across. That is until they came across an ancient Forerunner artifact. The artifact was brought back to the original Prophets and they decided to locate and collect every last artifact seeing it as a message.
Now your probably wondering where I pulles this 900,000 years ago from. But if you recall on the Halo 2 Documentary a certain Bungie employee stated something about a 900,000 year old battle ground. Now in Halo: First Strike in the epolouge it says it is the Ninth Age of Recamation which I take that as it has been 900,00 years (Age being 100,000 years) that the Prophets have been trying to Reclaim their past, or even Reclaim their past power. The Elites however begin to think that the Prophets are sending them on a wild goose chase to find these so called "Great Ones, as put in First Strike, and begin to become agrivated with their "Leaders" and challenge that the Elites themselve should be in control, which would explain the so called "Bump" that the Elites and Prophets experience.
Never the less that's where I belive Halo 2 will take us, with the ancient Prophets reaching that 900,000 battle ground that the very first of the Covenant species had fought the Forerunners... and won. But over the thousands of years however, the Covenant, with the exeption of the select few ancient Prophets or "High Prophets", have forgetton about the anicient war between their own species and their creators, The Forerunner. Upon arrival however the Prophets realize what had happened in the battle 900,000 years ago and Reclaim the power and leadership of the Forerunners for themselves, not sharing with the Elites who had actually fought and won the battle, which would also explain another possible "Eump" in the Elite, Prophet relationship.
That's my orignal theory that I have had since the beginning, I know that was probably hard reading for you guys that read it.

But from the recent posts here I have began to think up a new theory (unlikely but possibly) maybe the humans were infact created by the Forerunner, probably on Halo 06. The humans created however were probably a much more primitave Human, they either escaped from their Halo Installation or were released because the Forerunners knowing they wold not be a threat and would certainly not be intellegent enough to learn the way of the Forerunners.
We crashed on Earth and being human, naturally, we reproduced like rabits and began to inhabbit our big blue panet. Ever since we have not known our history and have been fighting and killing each other ever since, simply because we are in fact... human.

Well I hope yall read that, that one took a lot. Nice topic again Tartarus, best one I've seen for a while.

I'm seeing a lot of similarities between the Forerunners and StarCraft's progenitor race known as the Xel'Naga (who created the Protoss and Zerg, but not humans).

you are correct in your assumption of multiple spartans in halo 2. In the third halo book "First Strike" the MC finds other spartans on his return to reach after he destroys The mysterious ring world halo. During their return to earth, Dr. Halsey takes Kelly on a secret mission she tells noone about. halo 2 will be very interesting.

What if the Flood are the remanents of the Forerunners? All that destructive power in Halo and it can't wipe out the Flood. Maybe the Halos were being used to reverse the Flood but they ran out of time. I guess they didn't believe in collective suicide so they made ways to starve themselves instead so they wouldn't kill themselves. Maybe they were all lawyers?

Here's a theroy that i put together about the forunner. The spartans are the forunner which means that humans are forunner. also all the info you need about the plot on halo is in halo1 on the multiplayer level damnation your on the covenant home world in a processing plant but in some places there is dripping flood blood so i think in h2 the covie homeworld will be taken over by the flood.
