Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Trust issues exist between the upper and lower tiers of this society. Additional moderators just simply aren't going to be chosen. Soon, however, new tools available to moderators and members alike will help aid these, and other, problems.

Forum Tutorials --- WATCH THEM AND LEARN

More mods wouldn't really help. There would just be more chances of clashing, like deleting the same thread five times, or moving posts to the same forum three times.

So now I'm a beta tester. Let's see where this goes.

Your concern is valid and has been pointed out a number of times. The ninjas have mentioned that changes are coming that will make policing up the forums easier for them. With that said, we wouldn't need any more mods. I think it's fair to say that regardless of what changes do happen we aren't going to see any new mods for a long time.

We don't need more mods. We definitely could use fewer idiots.

I hope your not referring to me.

You say tomato; I say potato.

I had a big, lean sirloin steak of a post, but the preview button ate it.

This site could use more active moderators. Maybe privileged members with very limited powers, but that is just a thought off the top of my head.

Bungie, I would like to speak up about a very big concern of mine, moderators. We need some more, sure they cant stop everything but I think that 20 mods and posts every 10 seconds with about 1 spam post a minute. We need moderators to deal with this, I know many people that would do a great job, I wont mention them but 10 more mods we need ATLEAST. Bungie, look in the halo 3 forums, keep refreshing the thread page for 3 minutes and tell me that there was not one ''Recon Armour'' topic or ''Melee sucks'' topic. Now I am not complaining, nor winging, I am concerned for the community because I cannot have a good experience on B.Net because of so many stupid topics, I even PM ninja's, they lock the thread of course, But then another one pops up. Please help Bungie.

No. We really need fewer idiots.

The problem has been discussed through and through. You'll get the same answer. Achronos [apparently] doesn't trust people enough to give them moderator powers. That's fine and I 100% respect his judgment; he's been doing this a lot longer than any of us have. Giving people more powers/responsibility should be a last resort issue and alternative methods of relieving the problems should be tried first. I'm not against seeing more mods, but I'm not for it either.

More mods won't help this situation. Something that will help is less immature children posting on the forums.

Ex: "I can has rec0n?"

No bloody wonder if you're classing this place as a 'tiered society'!

I think he means, tiered between the current ninjas, web team, and the us.
Not separate tiers of members. I think, I hope.

Getting ten more mods won't help get rid of idiots. It'll just inspire more complaints related to our methods of choosing new moderators and give the rest of us more reason to slack off. Not to mention the fact that it'll just lead to more clashing on the 'field' during peak hours.

There's a fine balance between missing a few threads and having too many moderators. Frankly, the former is more desirable.

Or it'll lead to elitism, or something.

Of course I mean the admins to the members. While I do advocate additional member roles, the "tiers" I was referring to are those between the Administrator(s) and the Members tiers. There're some other strained relationships, but tat's not an appropriate conversation for this thread.
