A few simple facts to clear up storyline confusion:

1. The Master Chief is on his way to earth(in the longsword fighter)
2. The covenant are attacking earth.
3. There are multiple halo ringworlds, so that means more flood.

Okay, first of all, there are around 3 other Halos in the Galaxy - each have a destructive radius of 25,000 lightyears. Once Halo is activated, the others quickly follow suit.

The Covenant were trying to unlock the powers hidden within the Halo. They are out to destroy all humans. lol And their original plan was to kill us by activating the ring(s).

In Halo 2, for some reason, they are after us, and our planet. It could be because Earth was in the blast radius of the destroyed ring, leaving the Covenant no other option than to Glass the planet. Or they could of come upon some new intel, and are now after an anchient artifact on Earth.. Who knows..

imo, Halo(s) were built to destroy all humans. It's just a way for something, or someone, to study humans, and keep them within the confines of their Galaxy.

And I've played the game and read the books.. I just don't believe AI, sorry.

Well, he's heading to earth in the Acsendant Justice, a captured Covenant flagship, and The Gettysburg, a still-operational human frigate they found.

I think the radius of our galaxy is about 100.000 lightyears a diameter and it nneds 4 halos to cover the entire galaxy (four corners) just a thought

nah remember a radius is a circle so if you want to cover every nook and cranny of this galaxy you would actually need SE7EN halos

hmm 7 what a coincedence ;-)

12 Halo rings if you read the book "Flood".

They were actually on it looking for more Forerunner artifacts as they see it as hugely religious, and they were not going to use it to destroy all humans as it would also destroy themselves. The only reason the war started and the Covenant continues on is that we're in the way for them to do there religous task to find all the Artifacts....which just happened to be one on Reach and on Earth amongst other places.

Where do you make this &£$% from? They just want the Forerunner Artifacts as thats what the Prophets want above all else. They found Earth via the other Artifacts so far found. The first encounters with the Covenant when they showed up, landed on a planet, grabbed "something" and blew the planet up to clear it of the lower life forms....namely the humans. We have till recent been nothing more than an annoyance to them. Not like we've put up much of a fight against the Covenant fleet so far...ok, with the exception of one troublesome Spartan the Covenant have had the numbers and firepower to do whatever they see fit, even against the Super Macs at Reach. Until they get the Artifact then Earth is "relatively" safe as the Covenant won't use the Planet Busters till they have what they came for...now, the problem comes once they have it.

k....there are at least 4 HALO installations...who knows if they all host the Flood? there could be other things worse than the Flood, or easier. Could the Convenant be returning to Earth for an artifact?...Atlantis? think about...the Forerunners resembled human...everything that was made by them is fit for a human, so maybe there is something in Atlantis (the ancient race of super-intelligent beings that was supposedly on Earth) that the Covenant need/want...plus the Covenant are really after the humans because their "destruction is the will of the gods..."....

no halo was built to destroy anything capable of sustaining the bio mass of the flood (nutrition needed to keep them healthy enough to live and survive ) meaning anything like humans and covenant and anything else that can sustain the nutritional value needed for a single flood whould be wiped out so it kills anything that can sustain that bio mass of the flood

your theories are wrong halo was built to destroy all things that can sustian the flood nutritional value and thus allow them to survive and thrive or just plainly live. but any ways all of the halos would countain the flood then and what the hell how do you know that theres 4 to my knowing its only one of them

The Acsendant Justice was destroyed in the explosion of the Unyielding Hierophant if memory serves me correctly, so it's only the Gettysburg that the MC is piloting to Earth.

That would take a few years as there's no slipspace drive on it. Read First Strike and you'll find out they get back on the Gettysberg.

You can't say that for sure. There may be several different lifeforms the Forerunner were interested in. One to each instillation perhaps?

-EDIT- Sorry for not looking at the second page beforeposting that lol
