Ninjas are silent killers - one shot and you're down, so they don't need to spam.

Old school Bungie, born and raised,
In the Septagon is where I spend most of my days.
Relaxin', maxin', posting all cool,
Talking about Halo, life and some school.
Got in one little argument, and the mods got scared,
they said "You're gonna get banned and your member title'll be bare!"

Not everyone I cant report is a ninja though.

Any outstanding characteristics with their posts? Gold-texted posts most certainly will not be able to be reported. Those lesser-seen SuperUser's probably won't either.

Outside of that, it may be just your browser failing to load the text/hyperlinks.

More like some of the older topics don't get the report as spam button.

Granted, this may be due to cache.

Ninjas are the gatekeepers. Ultimately, they judge what is spam.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

Hah. I got so confused when I logged on and saw "Legendary Member". Mythic Member must be quite a feat.

The mythic members that I have seen are from 2001.

I think they will not give us a detailed explanation of the system as it may result in abuse of the trust system.

I'll be on my own side.

The first "normal" member outside Bungie staff was "haveblue", I think. #5 if I remember correctly.

Member #6693 is mine.

I like this.. Its also good that people don't know exactly how to get their rank up. I mean, we have a general idea (be a good, helpful member of course), but if they told us all exactly how to "rank up," that would result in a massive brown nosing-fest.

Not that it would work.

I already have a human shield of "can I has Recon?" requesters all around my ass.

I believe you only have your name to place blame on for that, sir.

They could have called it Frankie-Armor.

Yeah, but then no one would want it... :)

So do we have a definitive answer yet? I will be observing this thread for more info as this is an interesting topic

No. and there is not one coming.

Giving out the specifics of how the system works is a surefire way to encourage petty people to exploit it.

I would be insulted by this if it were not an accurate description of what I would do. :)

Come on now, a custom title is cool, guys. It is a sign of recognition for being good members who have stuck around and also an incentive to do so. For those worried about elitism, i still have yet to see anyone being 'elitist' using their title.

I'm sorry, but you aren't "Legendary", so I'm just not going to listen to you.

Eh? Bet you didn't see that reverse elitism thing comin' didja... ;)

*deducts the points from his score in advance, to save the system the time and effort.*

"I have no words that would do justice to the atrocities you commit to the English language, as well as your continued assaults on the concepts of basic literacy and logical reasoning."

Considering the reaction and resulting social effects are pretty much exactly as predicted, your embarassment is not necessarily. I'm quite happy with how it turned out. There's a few tweaks here and there I'd like to make, but nothing major.

Really, an elitist jackass doesn't need a title to be elitist. Indeed, the titles help make sure that those that are elitist jackasses get punished for doing so.

Besides, I'm not sure what you're concerned about - did you think the "reporting" button appearing at the same time was by chance?

Bungie is doing nothing but encouraging elitism. I am ashamed at the hypocricy that Bungie has displayed by implementing this feature. I'm embarassed for you, Achronos.
