It's more a measure of not getting in trouble than exceptional posting, and since Foman has only been here a year and a half, there hasn't been enough time to build up enough of a trust rating. Are there any Heroic '06ers?

I haven't seen any yet but hope to be one soon, maybe.

5/5 Stars - Kritz.net

On another note, is it possible to lose ranks? Is there a rank below "Member"? Junior Member, perhaps?

Because there is the very high possibility of people being dicks with their tag.

Humm. Do we get a warning message if we hit "report as spam"? Because no doubt people will probably click it by accident.

  • 12.11.2007 3:24 AM PDT

I'm not that active, but never dead.

Achronos said that it doesn't work like conventional systems can can tell if it is being abused, I'm assuming that it can also tell when it it being used by accident.

I may be wrong, maybe someone else can shed some light on whether or not Kritz is going to end up a junior.

I just happen to be one, yes.

  • 12.11.2007 3:33 AM PDT

There is a pop up that asks you to confirm that you want to report a thread as spam when you hit the button.

I agree. We should start a petition.
Or at least pester them on Messenger.

I would go with the pester on messenger, you have been here long enough to know that petitions are not allowed. Or you could just PM Achronos and find out what the deal is? My guess is that they shouldn't ever be posting spam since they are mods so there is no need for a report as spam button for them.

Well lets see. I've had two blacklistings (both over a year ago), and I'm heroic.

As far as I can see that's just a reward for being more mature since my blacklistings and just generally being a nice guy.

If thats the case, thats fine by me.

Remember, trust is calculated daily, and the maximum value possible changes every day too. Since the titles are based on the percentage your trust value is compared to the maximum value, it can easily change if the max value goes up further than you go up in the intervening time, even if you haven't had any negative items against you.

In other words, no the system isn't buggy, stop asking why your title changed, I'm not going to tell you.

The only Mythic member I can think of is Reiginko.

The site changelog just got updated that explains it better.

The title is determined by your "trust rating", a score generated each day that uses several metrics to decide a few things. Being a good member makes it go up. Warnings/bans make it go down.

Hmm then what's below member because that's probably me with my past history here.

Posted by: Batzter
So its about now i should start worrying about what those random collective bans did to my member-record.

No. Don't let the "man" push you down. Seriously ranks and a form of showing "rep" on forums only serve for abuse and a certain inflated "towing of the line". Sing out if you're upset. Voice your disapproval and never let the "powers that be" keep you from speaking the truth.

Never been a fan of showing any form of rank, post count or member date in forums. It only spells disaster and Bungie up until now were refreshing and in rare company. Shame.

I'm a Heroic Member from '06. However, I joined in January. That makes my account close to two years old. Still, it's odd. I rarely post in forums outside my groups. I suppose that's a plus, though, because I've never been blacklisted.

It's a lot more complex than you'd think. I'm an 04 account, never been blacklisted. My friend is exactly 2 months older than me on B.Net and he's legendary. Does it mater to me? No.

The reason it's like that is because moderators do not spam or do anything bad. Why would Achronos spam the site that he is the Overlord of?

I agree. It is a measure of how trustworthy someone has been on Bungie. I don't think an algorithim could handle post quality.

Im confused, why are you just a member? Not Heroic or Legendary? You have been here a long time (I know its not just based on time) but you should be at least a member 1.5 or something.

I can't wait until Reiginko posts. See how many people freak out then.

Do you think he would ever do something like that? I have no clue if he even still thinks about Bnet, let alone visits here once in a while.

Have any non-mods been here as long as Reiginko? I would think someone is around who joined 2000 or earlier.

I could certainly be wrong, but I believe that no user has a join date any earlier than 10/12/01 (Achronos's join date), since everybody had to make new accounts to comport with the site's new affiliation with Microsoft and requirement of a Windows Live ID in order to have an account on BNet (Bungie was acquired by Microsoft in mid-late 2000). Thus, Reiginko's account, made about a month later, is just about the oldest regular member account that you will find. There may be someone whose account was made within the month previous to Reiginko's account creation, but I don't know of any.

Once again, I'm open to being corrected on this, but that's the impression I have.
