I play Halo 1 for PC.

ALOT

And I also play Halo 3

ALOT

But I don't play Halo 2 anymore.
Or Halo 1 for Xbox

I broke my Halo 2 disc into about 20 pieces, placed it all back into the case, and mailed back to Bungie Studios. I don't think they cared but it's the thought that counts. I also demanded my 50 bucks back, I'm still waiting for it.

The day Halo 3 came out, me and my friends all came together, but our Halo 2 games in the road, and I ran them all over in my car. Then we went inside and played Classic CTF on Damnie and FFAs on Chill Out and Pris. Halo 1 has not been surpassed as a multiplayer FPS in my opinion, but I still play Halo 3, mostly because it's online. Halo 3 is better than Halo 2, so there is no purpose to ever touch that game again.

Dude there was no such thing as consoles with online in 2001.

There was nothing like Xbox Live, but there was online console gaming before Live. I remember playing NFL 2K1 and Quake III online with the Dreamcast. It worked over dial-up.

This game has a classic feel to it, really only good with friends.
I still find it fun to play on XBC. With a decent ping, I find Halo more enjoyable on XBC than Halo 2 or 3 on Live.

You've got to think crazy, of course, because you only get innovation by refining insanity. - Jason Jones

For my money, it doesn't get any better than Halo 1 single player. I actually am going to go through and play it again tonight (something like the 300th time). Some new games look way better and have better physics, but as far as story and immersion I get sucked in and see something new every time with Halo ce.

Awesome

I'm considering going back through all three games cutscenes and all.

I keep getting banned since the mods are unfunny and suck at their jobs!

I play it.
Both versions.

I remember the days of Halo ce system link quite fondly. We used to play Beerlo. A bunch of us would spend the whole night playing Halo and whenever someone would die you had to have a large gulp of beer. Trust me by the end of the night and a heap of deaths, you were blind!! good times

Everything will be gone long before me. When the first living thing was born, I was here, waiting. When the last living thing dies, my job is finished. I'll put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the universe behind me when I leave.

Halo 1 > Halo 3> Halo 2
QFT.
It's a shame that I'm the only one of my friends who thinks the same way.

I like my Covenant like i like my woman, screamin and with a sticky on there face.

i actually just had an urge to break out my halo 1 and play agin. It was so much more fun to play with that health system and weapon sets. The plasma pistol could actually be used to kill some body the needler was the ultimate legendary elite killer and the pistol was good. The biggest differnce between in the mp is the halo 1 has more of an arena type feel bc the levels were simpler and it was harder to hide. for the most part you could always see the other people. everyone would always be right there in your face and the weapons were hard enough to use that it wasnt as easy to take someone out across the map. in campaign there were so many epic battles like two betrayals when you activate the reactor you would have to fight the things coming throughthe dorr then there were the aotcr rooms where you would walk in and fight numerous enemys then t&r was just one big epic sniper battle easily one of the best halo levels. best halo levels aotcr, t&r, the maw, the covenant, delat halo, regret, and the storm

Well I play it about the same as Halo 3. Whenever I have friends over, we play the classic's multi player. I play Halo 3 because of the online (don't need people over to have fun) I don't play CE's campaign anymore because I have literally played each level several thousand times, and 3's campaign was almost as disappointing as 2's.

I liked every single player level in halo 1 (except for the library... too many of the same enemies)
Halo 2 was different. The only map I enjoyed at all was Gravemind with the only battle that one could call epic (like 6 hunters and thirty brutes and white elites)

Yeah the library wasnt my favorite either (either of the truth and rec levels were great). The library would have been much better if they didnt have the same level design over and over again. I disagree about the enemies though. It was the only level were you just battled the flood and i thought they dead a good job.

Actually i played last night with a friend (on legendary) and i had become really rusty. So while running through the library i screamed "OMG!!" every so often because i would turn and see a flood carrier right next to me. I imagine they fell from a rafter life the warriors do sometimes and i didnt notice.

It was a great game and its a shame it so few people still play on connect.

Well I like a variety of enemies. At least there are covalent in the last 3 levels. It was probably that and what you said about the environment in conjunction with each other that made the Library the single bland level in Halo 1.

Yeah the flood werent the most varied of the three enemies in halo. Now the flood from halo 3 were a bit more interesting. Im going to say that the Keyes was on of the better levels along with the maw simply because we had several three and four way battles (the chief, covies, sentinels, and the flood).

Now i want to play some ce.

I done that before halo 3 came out just to refresh my mind of the story.
I have to admit that i found halo 1 more enjoyable than halo 2 some of the levels are awesome and i loved the chain reaction of exploding grenades.

I think to get your 50 bucks back the disc has to be intact

anyway I still play Halo CE with my brother, just for the maps.
but I'm glad they put Halo CE as download content on the marketplace

Halo 1> rest of them =)
The flood were better because I had seen screenshots of flood on internet in the same rooms I was and I was letterally freaked out there were banging sounds on the door then it stops.......a swarm of flood emerge and I have deja vu. It actually added more flavor to the game then the others. Halo 2 flood were decent ust not the best =/ Halo 3 flood just old school not as old as Halo CE but just not the best flood at all. Halo 1 had a 10/10 for campaign
Halo 2 8/10
halo 3 7/10
Halo CE had great maps like sidewinder boarding action and blood gulch(ftw) for multiplayer and for single player truth and reconciliation and Cartographer great maps great ideas and they were long enough to keep you going not to short to say I beat the first level in 5-10 minutes.

Nothing is better than gaming through the day, into the night, then back into the day. It's like when you finally push that power button you feel like you've accomplished nothing, but at the same time, you can't stop smiling.

The reason the levels on Halo Ce are better is because they're mostly outside and you have lots of space to do every confrontation in every level several different ways. In Halo 2, it's really linear and u don't get a lot of options to do other things during firefights.

  • 01.05.2008 8:35 PM PDT

I play halo 1 sometimes. As a matter of fact I'm going to a Halo 1 LAN Jan 19-20th.

You could have just sold it to someone to make some money back. Or send it to bungie for a refund if they would even do that.
