I live out in the country DSL and Cable are not available, there is this local company that offers high-speed internet in my area wirelessly through this antenna/box reciever thing. It connects from a few miles away, and connects at over 1000kbs both download and upload. Xbox live support was not sure if xbox live would work with it since it was basically like a LAN business network. I have heard of people connected with wireless ISP's(not satalite). The ISP is not even sure if xbox live would work, but it connects through an ethernet cable and is more than fast enough. I really want to play xbox live. What should I do?

No it's not but I can see why he's putting it up.
Why not ask the company supplying it
If they want your money they'll look it up.

surely theres someone with live there. If not, go to a game store and ask them. Especially if they are white teenagers. jk

Also, another choice is, ask the store about its return policy. Maybe you have connections you dont no about

I guess the only way would be to test, if ya know anyone with live, get em to bring their stuff and test so you dont have to pay for it all...

Use a 2 month freebie account from a game like Rainbow Six 3.

1000kbps wireless!!!!!! I want some...lol...

But seriously, I'm in about the same situation (without the wireless provider). You'd probably be better off contacting Microsoft's Xbox Live Tech Support about it. But from what you say, the only two things I could see being a problem is interference causing slowdowns or packet loss (interference from cell phone towers, heavy electrical stuff, microwaves, etc...) and latency creating lag (the same problem that satellite service has).
