y do u all want bots in halo 2 when u can play real ppl. if u dont have xbox live then theres really nothing u can do with halo 2 (except singleplayer, which u dont need bots in) so dont parade around talking about bots. and stop spamming!

For a game as complicated as Halo, bots aren't worth the time they take to make.

it isnt spam at all..

Frankly i voted for no bots.... but it dont mean there shouldnt be any... I believe if they make bots, friends that used to be doomed to verse each other, are now allowed to pick posies while versing bots with each other. But you dont know do you. If you dont have LIVE and play occasional (say monthly) LAN parties, your gonna wanna keep them skills sharp in the multiplayer death match mode.. learning the levels and whatnot....

EDIT

The closest thing in Legendary an Elite that runs at you, (hard yes) then you put a grenade on him, he stops shooting (even though you may only have 1 health block left) stops running, and screams...
They want bots that dont, they want a sort of human acting one, that when gets snipered, doesnt hide under a shield that can barely cover his body duck and let you move and snipe its head.. they want oone that runs at you so you cant snipe him because your covered in pink needles!

NOT at the cost of other features.

If you want to for legendary, why not just play legendary?

I don't think bots would add much to the experience. Bots don't really train you to play real people.

they train you better than legendary does....
Anyway, i added more to my post up above, but that probably dont matter.. has info on why legendary dont.

This is coming from someone who voted no for bots in the last poll...(remember)

umm yeah, at the cost of other features, who said they were gonna be taken out?

It's implicit that other aspects of the game would suffer if bots were used. Games take a finite amount time and resources to develop, if bots go in, other parts don't. It's just natural.

Bots would provide a more immersive multiplayer experience for those without XBL, who are actually the vast majority of Xbox owners. Bots provide a completely different experience than the campaign mode. You can use bots to balance out teams on system link or split screen, and to flesh out a boring 1vs1 or 2vs2 or FFA with less than 4 people.

And they also don't have to come at the expense of other features. Bungie still hasn't decisively answered us about bots, so there's still hope that they'll make it into the game and that they've been working on them all along so they won't have to make sacrifices.

And mithrandir1, you're really one to talk about spamming. At least the bot discussions are on topic in the New Mombosa forum, unlike "This topic is spam" or "I think Shiska is asleep.

I would argue that bots produce a less immersive experience due to the difficulty in simulating human behaviour. Saying that bots wont cost other features isn't true. Putting in any kind of feature into a game takes away from other ideas you could be working on. What would be good, is if bots were released as a download or given away on demo discs after the game was released, That way, original, fun features more important to Halo aren't sacrificed and bots are available to people who want them.

The 13 Million Xbox owners that don't have Xbox Live would like bots, I'm sure.

seriously, to think that BUngie would lessen their focus on other aspects of the game if they included bots is rediculous, bots would be insane, when i had Halo 1 i always thought that bots would be an awesome idea for Halo 2, i dont want to play the same campaigns over and over again, it gets boring, and if they made the bots really good like human players, it would sharper my skills when i dont want to be a single box online, id play with bots, i think it would just be great and it WOULD make ur skills better, imagine going 4v1, 5v1...sounds like fun to me.........

cuz my other 2 controllers are busted...wait....my only one that works alright is kinda busted too ( cant use my scope, no zoom, boring start of Truth and Reconciliation ) and what if no-one is home, and you wanna play, but you have to wait till someone comes home...theres single player...but it would be more fun. seriously.

I would like bots just because I don't have any good friends to LAN with, and I have no guarantee of XBox Live...

i did read somewhere though (unfortunately) that there is a 99% chance that there will NOT be bots, the idea is that Bungie wants people to just play online, which makes no sense to me considering the majority of xbox owners dont have online capability...............

Just how many of them are going to buy Halo 2? Halo sold what 3-4 million? Then you have a percentage of them which play multiplayer (believe me there are a number that don't). Even though Halo 2 will sell more than Halo 1 (almost certainly) its not going to be close to that 13 mil. Don't you also think its very likely that those who are interested in multiplayer are going to buy Live at that point? I'm sure there will be those that can't (no BB), but I think they will make a small percentage of that. I'm not going to care really if bots are in, but I have zero desire for them, and don't see how many would actually use them with Live.

they wouldn't be used for live, only split screen or a special multiplayer menu specifically for bot killing

I think bots would be awesome, but not if they will delay the game. But anyway, as I've said before, in the end it's bungies decision, and halo2 will kick arse no matter what they decide on.

There's about 1 million Live accounts at this point.. And two of them are mine. As a matter of fact, I think most of the gamers on my friends list have multiple accounts, as well. I have many developers and insiders on the list that also have multiple gamertags. Chances are, there's more likely around 500k unique subscribers on Xbox Live - Half of which will pick up a copy of Halo 2. I don't know, I never really cared for bots either, but the majority seem to be asking for multiplayer bots. And I'm a big fan of Halo fans. We all make up the community. So I'm for them.. Let's have bots.

p.s. If bungie can't do bots, they need to grow some balls and admit it.
