i have 2 ideas Vel and describing it may take some time so if anyone posts before me with my idea sorry if it looked like i copied.

Convoy - Team 1 has to transport cargo from point A to point B. the cargo can be carried by two poeple or put in the back of a transport warthog.
Team 2 must intercept the convoy and then do one of two things. take it to point C or destroy it (but the cargo can take a heck of a lot of damage to make it more fair)
so both teams get a try they can swap after X minuites.

Parade - based on mckay's transport run in 'the flood'
Team 1 has to get as many vehicles from one side of the map off the other and secure them. ie get vehicles from point A to B and this map would have to be huge. the more vehicles that make it (and the better condition they are) the more points that team gets.
Team 2 must prevent as many vehicles making it as possible, the more damage they inflict and the more vehicles they destroy the more points they get. to let team 1 get started they cannot attack until the parade crosses a certain point, but during this time team 2 can prepare and gather weapons. both teams swap after X minuites.

as you can see both these games require a lot of teamwork and will ultilise LIVE communication headsets very well.

thanks then here's another
its called assasin
one much smaller team are the assasins they are less in number but slightly stronger than the other team, they must kill a designated target in the other team to score points. only the assasin team can use snipers and active camo.
the larger team has the assasination target and his bodygaurds. they must protect the target at all costs and score points by kiling the assasins.
the teams can switch after X minuites.
to make it harder for vet assasin players there should be an option of making it so they can't tell who the target is.
to make it easy for newer players there is a nav point to the target and he is weaker than the bodyguards. target strength and assasin strength can be altered until a good balance is found.

I must say that your ideas sound interesting, and I have played many a time, a multiplayed game similar to Vel's Bumper Cars, except that the players are not invisible and the rule is that if you die and respawn, you charge up your Plasma Pistol and run back to your Warthog. If the person with the chaged P.Pistol is hit without getting into a vehicle, then the person who was hit and the other players get to team up on the killer and kill him as punishment.

The best map is ofcourse the classic, blood gulch.
Generic weapons.
Warthogs.
100% health.
Max. players: 4

well, rushviking thought of one........

heres another one called conquest but it uses more than 2 teams so i hope the rumors of 4 teams are true.
there are 4 bases and at the start you can only respawn at your own base. each base has a flag. if an enemy team captures a flag and returns it to their own base they gain control of the base of the corresponding colour. so if reds capture the green flag green base becomes red also. whoever gains all 4 bases or has the most at the end of a time limit wins. hence the name conquest. killed members can respawn at captured bases. if a team loses their base 1 of 2 options can occur which must be set before the game. the team is eliminated permenantly or they become part of the teams empire of whoever conquered them. so in the earlier example green would become red or just be out of the game.
theres is loads of strategy in this mode and teamwork for a successful dominion of the map such as guarding, capturing and intercepting other flags mid-field from another team trying to bring a captured flag back to their base.
sorry if this sounds complicated. if anyone needs a clearer description of this or another one of my earlier ideas please ask. to make this game more challanging you could give everyone a limited number of lives/respawns

i like, a bit like crimson skies and lylat wars/star fox only halo and space battleing. there could be the fall of reach or harvest in the background for atmosphere

here's another.
demolition derby with warthogs in an arena of death with commentary and everything!
imagine painted up warthogs and thanks to destructable vehicles this is actually possible.
no-one can leave their warthog unless it's their corpse on the floor

well it doesn't have to be THAT realistic i mean this game has aliens eating off of nipples!
i know what you mean though, and anyway halo 2 might have music on its multiplayer maps unlike the first one you never know

to make this more interesting may i reccomend a longer fuse and as there are no guns, you can pick up grenades and throw them back, or even just kick them if they're on the ground!
mid air catches should be made possible (like vehicle hijacking) but if you screw it up the grenade instantly explodes at your feet!

heres another idea inspired by your earlier one.
its called Air Force One.
one team must stop a pelican on a fixed course from being shot down by the other team in a set time. simple but sounds good eh?

i now one its SWATRUN team 1(6players) gets a highly secured base with a lots of weapons,ammo and health. team 2(3players) gets only a pistol and one warthog. the mission of team 1 is to protet the center of the base where a member of team 2 is caged. he only has a stick where he can make a melee attack whit.team 2 has to get in the base in Xminutes and get there teammemeber out the cage then the have to get him back outside safe.where the have to drive him back whit a warthog to there base

for my assasin idea i thought of a good book example. where the special ops elites infiltrate alpha base in order to find master chief.i know he wasn't there in the end but the idea is about right.

what do you think is my best idea so far?
assasin, convoy, parade, conquest, demolition derby, air force one?
i can't beleive i've thought up of six ideas off the top of my head. i may have more by the end of the day but i guess my ideas have made it harder for everyone else, hence little responses, sorry.

Level: Any
Weapons: All
Time Limit: 15 minutes
343 Kills: 50 to 75

Objective: Kill as many 343 Guilty Sparks as you can before your enemy (everyone or just the other team) does. Killing other people doesn't give you any points...

would be good target training too. sentinels should slow your progress while he hums and says "i'm a genius"

can you imagine if the monitor was the final boss in halo 2?

ye thats good, like spartans have captured elites/prophets or if covenant they have captured spartans/UNSC commanders, admirals, whatever. it'd be super hard though for the 'good' team.
