Er, which do you want? Graphic design and level design are two very different fields.

Unless you don't mean graphic design, and you mean modeling, say character design or something similar...

Anyhow, it's not hard to find stuff, just google it!

Well nothing really comes cheap....Graphic Design your looking at Photoshop and Quark, and Modelling your looking as something like 3DS Max....someone say eek at the price tags :(

As for level designs, the HaloCE level design tutorial which Gearbox wrote is a good place to start though, covers alot of basics and goes into alot of detail on what you can do too. Personally though my fave map editor was Forge (for Marathon)...it just felt so right when using it :) Or if you're into Unreal, UnrealEd is good (on the Unreal game CD too).

Buy a Limited Edition Unreal Tournament 2004 copy from EBay (probably selling for over $200 now... )

It includes the worlds most advanced level editing lessens. Ive actually made a map for UT2004. It kicks ass!

Before i started the UT2004 tutorials, i knew NOTHING about making maps. Now? I know how to make a level from a flat plane. I know how to create AI, create mass, create volume, create environments, create lighting, creating static meshes, brushes, etc.

It sounds complex, but its easy as hell. The developers break everything down for you so easily and slowly.
