Subject: I have an idea, Bungie. (great idea about bumping)

Sorry, but I do not believe there should be a button to bump. For one thing, that would encourage bumping. If your thread is worthy of being talked about, it will be. If people do not think your topic is interesting, you shouldn't be able to force it on them.
You just have to know when to post too. Post later in the day when people are off from school and work instead of at 5:00 A.M. Weekends are good too, not holidays.

Join The Spartan I Project today!

SIP is here to help you achieve a 1,250 gamer score, unlocking all of the armor permutations for both Spartans and Elites.

EPA Official: S-sir, I'm afraid you've gone mad with power...

Russ Cargill: Of course I have. You ever tried going mad without power? It's boring. No one listens to you!

Well then why cant the form mods (ninjas) just post reqularly? Instead of sticking it to the forum page. One simple answer because it would probably die in a few days. So if you can do an alternative for of unlimited bumping then why can the players do it too?

I don't think it would work. Maybe allow the user to bump once or twice a week and only be given that option once or twice for that thread.

Plus, we are also seeing a new form of bumping.

I won't go too far into details as I do not want to encourage members to try it.

But there is a quid pro quo form of bumping that is making its rounds.

Interestingly enough, the spam reporters are seeing it, reporting it, and even without the ability to send a text explanation, it is visible to the ninjas.

Hmm, I might take a stab and say you are referring to OP's replying to everyones posts on a thread.
Am I right??

Can't bumping be taken care of with a single push of the "report as spam" button?

You have to weigh repeat topics into the mix. The front page always has the 5 of the same topics there.

Something Unique comes along, and if it goes un-noticed for 2 minutes, then there won't be any conversation. (behind 3 COD4> Halo3 topics)

Currently, some topics will just be pushed under by topics that get flamed, and or locked.

There should be some legitimate way to work it out other than just creating a new topic.

Give people a method of rising out of the spam. If they abuse it, they lose it.

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

It's a poor idea. The whole reason bumping is against the rules is because it puts threads that nobody wants to see at the top. How would adding a bump button change that?

It would limit the amount of bumps. And I like the Idea that it could be 'turned off' by the Ninjas if you abuse it or use it in a spam thread.
But really, it would be too much trouble to be plausible.
